Instant 30min lockout for withdrawing from 24man queue

I've been in Crystal Tower queue for over 50 minutes now, and the queue has popped 5 times.

5 times a party member has withdrawn.

For this content that has a much longer queue time, withdrawing from the queue should be an instant 30min penalty for the DF.

Only 5 times? You are lucky. Last time I did these raids it was minimum 15x that someone withdraw. And yes, instant 30 minutes penalty for people who does this would be perfect. With the way DF is working it is pain now. I do not understand if 23 people confirm and only 1 withdraw why those 23 are not immediately put back to SAME raid (even if they are signed for all three). It is so frustrating when for example queue for LotA pops and after withdrawal of one person DF puts you for example to ST and you have to wait 10 more minutes for different people instead of waiting for one in LotA.

this has been going on ever since a dungeon finder was even out with any MMOrpg. Lets say I queu up and for whatever reason I had to abort for an important reason in life like say tend to my child. Why should I have to take a penalty for it. System isnt perfect but its workng fine imo.

Well, to be honest, I don't care what is holding you from playing. If you don't have time for a dungeon, then don't queue at all. It is annoying as hell when it happens again and again and I lost all sympathy for this. I don't queue if I am not sure that I will have enough time. People would think twice if there was a penalty.

The longer the queue, the more likely that people just went AFK/tabbed out/fell asleep (yes, that happens ._.) or started other things in the meantime. That's kinda natural - imagine the time wasted if you sat in an 8 hour queue and did nothing but look at the timer.

So...I'd be more, rather than less lenient here. The longer the queue times, the bigger the time horizon you have to plan ahead for and the bigger the uncertainty of things happening in between.

Exactly.

Sarcasm aside, people shouldn't sit in a queue that says "more than 30min avg wait time" only to withdraw when it pops. That's irresponsible time management on their part, and it screws 23 other people when they do it.
