Free company, what do?

So, my free company of about 150 folks has been lacking leadership for a whiel, the two leaders have'nt been on in 30 days in fact the rank of leader was just transferred to me through the game.

My question, does anyone have any advice what I should do with this semi dead FC of 150? It makes me feel eerie and I worry leaders won't come back, yet I don't want to leave the semi active few hanging.

If both of them are inactive then maybe contact them via social media, forum and voice chat and ask them to either be active or pass on the leadership to someone who is able to take up the mantle. You need to ask yourself: "What do I want to do in this FC?"

My advice would be to discuss with your other FC members, hold a meeting and invite the leaders aswell. Worst Case scenario, take up the mantle and become the leader or you will leave and join a different FC.

The first thing you need to be 100% sure is, do you want to be the leader and are you able to preform the tasks that a leader should preform to keep the FC active.

Also i would suggest to have some of the FC members you really get along with and trust and perhaps make them officers to help you out. It is very much sounding like the FC needs to be restructured.

This happened to me, Shortly after heavenensward came out my whole FC rushed to the end.. and then we all got bored with the 7 month long drought of content..

So pretty much the entire FC took a break for a few months.. and then one by one we all slowly started playing again.. except the group of leaders. So me and the other few who had came back from inactivity (there were 5 of us total) jumped ship, and started our own FC. It's worked out well. :3

You could always try to run the fc yourself rather than start a new one, but this could cause drama when the current leaders decide to start playing again.

So.. you have several options available, just talk it over with your people and see what the best option is for the group.

If leadership has been passed to you then you need to decide if you want to take it up. An FC needs an available leader and if there's no leadership it dies. If you pass it on, and it's someone who decides not to long in, then people will either stop playing or quit and the FC is dead.

Decide if you want the guild to have a future. It might be sensible to leave and let it die.

@OP, If you want to be the leader of the FC, and keep the FC alive, schedule FC events for anything. This creates a stronger bond between FC mates as doing stuff together gives more of a sense of being in a "group" rather than just being a member of a social chat room. Events don't necessarily have to be raid content and can even be times in which the FC gets together to run premade DF dungeons, unsynched EX Pony farms, FATE grinding for xp/crystals, etc. The 150 people in your FC will appreciate even this small contribution and even small events like these can make the FC a very fun place to be.

I wouldn't worry about how the old leadership feels, if they ever come back to the game. If they were gone for long enough for the Leader Rank to be passed to you then they have forfeited their leadership position. Any good FC leader knows that 30 days of inactivity will forfeit their rank as leader. If they give you any grief you could always pass the leadership rank back to them, as far as I am aware, but I certainly wouldn't worry about any griefing about the issue.

Also, if you really want to take a strong leadership position and go the extra mile, you can create a website for the FC and post information about events and what not as well as have a place for members to keep in touch when not logged in to the game. There are a lot of places where you can create a free website that would more than accommodate what you would be trying to accomplish. Anyway, good luck!
