Mech combat

It might be intersting to see some use of the magitek armor in some sort of combat capacity. I would really enjoy quests that allow you to use the magitek armors attack functions.

So a Steel battalion, titanfall like?

I'm still waiting for them to let us use the magitek as our second companion (besides the chocobo). They did a really nice set up for it lore-wise and even hinted at it in past live letters and then never delivered ; ;

I'm sure it will happen eventually, but since this is low priority it will take a while before they add it.

Well, I remember sometime earlier this year they brought up the idea of something along the lines of grand company mercenaries you could hire that I think they said they were going to try and implement somewhere in the 3.X life cycle. (someone correct me if i'm wrong on this) I'd hope they could add the magitek armor as part of that.

That's coming in 3.3 with the new grand company ranks.

I believe their priority is GC mercenaries > companion (chocobo) able to enter dungeons > maybe additional companions after the aforementioned system is up.
