Job Suggestion

(This is my opinion, please treat it as such, and a suggestion to SE if they actualy see this topic... which i won't get my hopes up)

After playing FFXIV for such a long time, playing every other Final Fantasy game, and being a fan of Bravely Defaut and Bravely Second, playing alot of League of Legends with a main of Fiora, and getting a small detailed statue of Fiora from friends in a convention, i came to realize that there is one type of Job that i ussualy love to see and use in games, this is Fencer. It's not a popular Job and most will say that Red Mage is almost the same as they preffer Rapiers and are more popular as well, but hear me out.

I know it's one Job that seems dull and boring for many people but it's one that wouldn't be influenced by other weapon types as they use Rapiers.

As for stats in-game, Fencer as i said, would use Rapiers as weapons, the style of fighting would include elegant rapid strikes and combos, almost like a Monk, even have the same 3 stances as Monk, though instead of Str as main stat, would be Dex as it would fit better(Just like in Bravely Second)

This would fit on the DPS overall as there are:
• Two Melee Dps with STR as main stat.
• One Melee Dps with DEX as main stat.
• Two Ranged Dps with Dex as main stat.
• Two Caster Dps with Int as main stat.

Why would it fit? Because it would be the second melee dps with Dex and that would make 4 Melee and 4 ranged dps total. I know people want a actual dual wielding job, but i think SE should look into this, as it could be a realy nice idea to add and diferent from other types of Jobs

Though this is just my opinion, i'm sure alot of people will tell otherwise, but i want to see what you think about it.

Fencer actually was a class that SE indeed apparently considered way back during the original version of FFXIV (1.0)'s development, but was ultimately never implemented (it was listed on a certain leaked design document that was floating around the FFXIV online communities that stated numerous classes planned for the game, that included the ones that actually did make it into both 1.0 and ARR by extension along with legendary 'forgotten' classes like the original form of ACN, Shepherd and Musketeer, plus references to the class did make it into the game though but were dummied out).

So if RDM is eventually added, FCR is a good a fit for it's base class as any (assuming SE decide to go back to 'base class upgrading to Job', all indications are they are not sadly).

The problem in my opinion about Red Mage is that they are more Magic focused, and people know them more as Casters. Unless they make Red Mage as a spell fencer where they charge their weapons with elements, it wouldn't be interesting to see just another mage that can use White Magic and Black Magic.

Which is why i said Job of Fencer, as they will only add Jobs now, and not Classes+Jobs. It would be a kind of style i would lash on to, even if they base on its skills and abilities like Fiora from League of Legends and Fencer Job from Bravely Second

If we go by the equipment, we have:

• 3 Jobs on Fending
• 1 Job on Maiming
• 1 Job on Striking
• 1 Job on Scouting
• 2 Jobs on Aiming
• 2 Jobs on Casting
• 3 Jobs on Healing

Now where would you predict the new jobs would fit in? For example if Samurai was brought to us as a DPS, I can see it sharing Maiming gear with Dragoon. If Red Mage is introduced as a fancy, rapier wielding job with some magic abilities like Ninja I can see them sharing Scouting gear. But they could possibly get their own set of gears outside of what we have now. [Torrent Tabard of Fencing]

So my guesses would be:

Samurai(DPS) - Maiming
Red Mage(DPS) - Fencing
Chemist / Salve Maker(Healer) - Transmuting
Beastmaster(DPS) - Maiming
Dancer(DPS) - Scouting
Spell Fencer / Rune Fencer(Tank( - (Fending)
Necromancer / Void Mage(DPS) - (Casting)
Geomancer(?) - (???)

Yeah...but Red Mage would probably be a great triple support Job. Healing, magical damage dealing, and melee capabilities. Yes, please!

That's what i dont want... it would make him suck to be honest... as becomes one class that isnt good dps wise or healing wise... as others do that job better. Which is why i suggested Fencer only, not Red mage
