Problem with quest A Relic Reborn - no customer support.

Hi,

On the quest A Relic Reborn after talking to Gerolt the quest disappeared from my quest journal. Consequently the treasure coffer I am supposed to find does not show up for me.

I can not drop the quest because there is nothing to drop and can not retake it. The issuing NPC Nedrick Ironheart I originally got the quest from no longer has it for me.

Support gives me nothing but useless form letters and there is no response on the bug report I filed. It looks like FFXIV will not assist on issues like this.

My question is, how important is the weapon? Do I really need it and can I get a better one from other content in the game?

If it is not really that important I will just forget about it and move on. I am a scholar by the way.

The ARR relic is just a glamour item at this point. You can buy a i120 weapon with Poetics in Mor Dhona and upgrade it to i130, or go through Coil for an i135 weapon (though it may be hard to recruit a group).
Or skip all that and just keep following the main story into Heavensward as you'll get better weapons while leveling.

Having a completed ARR relic lets you skip the first step of the Heavensward Relic quest but it'd be a lot quicker to just do that first step than to go through all the ARR relic quest steps.

What treasure coffer? Last I checked, the quest where you go into the mines and get the weapon base is just a shiny pickup that may be hard to find since the search radius is quite large and the hallways may only just graze that circle but be where the item actually is

The duty list will only show objectives for up to five quests at a time. If you have more than that, you need to open your quest journal and mark the quest if you want it to be displayed. If you don't have the quest, talk to Gerolt. The quest you got from Nedrick was just directing you to Gerolt so he can offer you the different quests for the relics.

For the Scholar - Obtain a timeworn copy of the Omnilex from a treasure coffer in the Sapsa Spawning Grounds. Nothing there for me. Some videos show the location too.

My duty list was empty just to make sure. I did the dialog with Gerolt. He has nothing for me now. The fact the quest is not showing in my quest log or duty list is the problem.

I will consider it bugged and just proceed on not worrying about it.

If this is for SCH, are you actually set as SCH for this or are you trying to get it as SMN? SCH and SMN each have their own individual relic quests and it's possible you've accidentally switched to it's opposite Job and trying to find the coffer, which will not appear if you are not that Job.

Other than that, are you actually aware about what exactly you have to find? The quest calls it a 'treasure coffer', but it's actually not the shape of the standard treasure chests you're familiar with. The coffer for the Relic quest is an elaborate looking object usually in the style of the beast tribe whose stronghold it resides in (like, for the PLD relic it was in Zaha'rak where the coffer was found and it was long, flat and in a metallic blue colour with spikes sticking out of it, similar to the amalj'aa's siege engines. As your SCH relic quest coffer is found in Sapsa I can only guess it's very... oceanographic... maybe it looks like a giant lump of coral or a seashell? (That's just a giant assumption on my part).

Finally, you say your duty list and Journal are both empty and do not have the quest currently in it. Are you actually looking in the right place in your Journal? The way the journal is set up, it might not be immediately obvious where the relevant quest is shown (usually though it should open automatically to the relic quest line if it's currently active).

Either way, I don't think your quest is bugged specifically, I just think you're either missing a step somewhere or have gotten confused about what you have to locate.

1. Yes I am clearly set as SCH. I even switched classes on the chance I accepted it as another class.
2. There is a YouTube video for the summoner that shows the Coffer and all the "A Relic Reborn" steps for the Scholar. I Scoured the area for the Coffer just to make sure.
3. I keep a very clean Journal and for this problem I emptied it just to make sure. In case I accidentally deleted it, I went back to the issuing NPC. All the NPCs actually, on SCH and SMN.
4. It would be nice if it was as simple as missing a step and I would gladly accept that as a solution if that were the case.
5. In my opinion the quest is bugged for this character.

After Enkidoh posted I decided to take a few screen shots of all the locations. When I got to Gerolt the quest was up again. I went through the dialog, FOR A SECOND TIME and got the coffer.

This was my FOURTH visit to Gerolt attempting to trouble shoot the problem. So:
1. A server reset fixed it.
2. My bug report prompted a fix
3. It just fixed itself

At any rate thanks again for those that took the time to dialog with me on this.
