Is increasing QoL for (SCH) pet skills on the devs radar?

Pet skills for SCH are incredibly clunky (esp. whispering dawn for Eos if you are using an interruption macro).

Silent Dawn (Selene's silence) is not reliable to use, even if you know the cast is coming up.
If I want the skill to go off ASAP I have to use an interruption macro, if I don't I just spam it, and even interruption macros aren't perfect and have a delay.

Why can't the skill just go off when I press it? This isn't going to have a major effect raiding (except for *maybe* selene's silence on easier turns like A6S) and will just be a QoL change.

Also can Whispering Dawn please just be an instant skill? Pretty please?

And yes, I am saying that pets should be able to use pet actions while casting.

SCH is so enjoyable apart from dealing with the pet skills.
Have their been any comments recently by the dev team about this?

Plz SE. Im tired of mashing Whispering dawn just have it go off 10 seconds later.

Well, I agree about the instant part, I don't think than having an instant Whispering dawn would be game-breaking.
This could be worked around with a better queue system, but unfortunately, I don't think they'll be able to remove the GCD from Embrace, so at best, we'll only get a 3 sec delay if the queue system works better.
The only way to really work around this is just to anticipate the phase when you'll need to use those skill.

I usually don't promote macros in any form. But for whoever's lacking badges to make your fairy obey you, you can macro in the stay or guard&steady commands before the ability in question. Stay or Guard/Steady will cast-cancel the Embrace being cast, which will reduce the wait time for the skill to activate. IF you resort to these kind of macro's, you're better off using stay over guard&steady.

It would be better if Embrace had no GCD and had a cast time instead. Then we could interrupt it at any point and use other pet skills immediately.

Whispering dawn is part of your dmg mitigation toolkit. It should already be on CD before the big dmg comes. Making it instant would have the brainy SCH be more reactive with WD instead of the proactive geniuses they are. You are still able to do your thing while Eos is casting it.

Silent dusk is already instant, but if Selene is not placed or is in the middle of casting embrace or Fey wind, it won't be. I wouldn't rely on an interruption macro to make it more efficient due to the instances I just mentioned. You can't always place your fairy, and interrupting their actions isn't always the best move on the chess board. Luckily the times I've noticed that SD is helpful the mob action I want to stop usually has a pretty long cast time, but I can't speak for later content.

I always just watch her embrace from the party list and command her each time the skill is finished. I also repeat lines in fairy macros to queue them.

The exception is silent dusk, that includes an interrupt.

Actually, you can. I place her all over the place whenever necessary. King Thordan EX to avoid knockbacks and Sephirot EX to avoid getting killed, for example. Having a fairy placed is always better than to have her on heel. A fairy on heel will prioritize movement over casting. Try placing your fairy far away, have her on heel and try and have her cast Embrace on you while on the way back to you. You'll notice she's completely unresponsive till she's by your side. When she's on heel, she'll only "check" your current position every couple of seconds. When she moves from point A to B, she won't be responsive to any command, even if it's only 2-3 steps. Meaning that after every embrace, she'll move again till she's at your previously registered position. She won't cast another embrace till she reaches that point. If you can't generate enough distance to convince yourself, try it inside a building where she has to move away from you and make a U-turn around a wall after commanding heel instead.

You're right. I should back up a little and say that it isn't always easy to determine the best place to put your fairy. Some fights have heavy dodge mechanics making it difficult to take Eos/Selene off of Heel. Lots of tanks I've grouped with are not conscious, or don't care to be attentive to try and stay in her range forcing me to place her again. And some trash mob fights take place in tight quarters, so you don't have to worry much about range, but you still have to try to keep her out of the fire.

I find that place vs not placed is all about healing efficiency vs mobility. There is no way you have one without sacrificing the other and some of the mechanics in this game require both from its healers, so you have to choose the best time for each. During my short time on these forums, I've picked up the impression that your fairy must ALWAYS be placed. However, my experience in the game has taught me that this is only true when you want to maximize healing efficiency.

The easiest heals are the ones we don't have to do. IOW, best way to reduce dmg taken is to not be there when it happens ;) This includes the dmg to your pet, and unfortunately, they don't have the AI to dodge it themselves so it is much easier to keep your fairy protected when she is on heel ;) Strategic placement of Eos/Selene is one of the things about SCH I really enjoy.

Well, it depends on how you look at it. For one: Healers should, or even have to, know the finer details of what's going on in the fight to be efficient. Or rather, setting the facts, rather than chasing them. If you know exactly when A or B is happening at Y and Z, you should have a general idea where to place the fairy. It's all reliant on the healer's vigilance and willingness to put in that extra effort.
