I need a fresh answer on a topic. I just bought a PS4 and I had played FFXIV:HW on PS3. Do I need to buy both ARR and HW? Or can I just get Heavensward and be good to go for playability for the PS4? Because Gamestop sells only Heavensward atm.

If you have a PS3 version you can upgrade/transfer your account to the PS4 without buying a new game. You should be able to do that through the Mogstation.

Yes, you have to buy both. The free upgrade campaign is no longer active. You can buy ARR and HW separately or the pack together. It's on amazon and also I think HW was on sale at Best Buy today. Good luck!
