FFXIV Anniversary Review

Usually I do crafting articles (as many might have read) but for the 1 year anniversary I wanted to re-review FF14. Hope people enjoy it, it was a lot of fun working on. Also a video of 1.19 highlights.

I personally like the objective tone in your review. As a player yourself, the potential bias can be hard to avoid. Perhaps you are making a bigger deal of some stuff that does not deserve it, but whatever really.

(You spelled "Eorzea" wrong btw!)

For the past year, I'd say that the successful reboot of the economy while providing better ways to stimulate it, as well as the rehaul of stats and their effects to provide more balanced and sensible encounters are the highlights. The negative would be the lackluster first half of the year, when they were focusing on setting up the 2.0 plans basically.

Hehe , thanks and thanks for catching that. It's a little late and often i write these when I'm way too tired, but i will get that corrected.

I like the review. Also the 4th part more on materia, I believe that there are +1 and +3 HQ as +2 HQ had been remove, right ?

You can't gather +1 or +2 mats using DoL, only +1, but I do believe you can still make +1-3 items.

If you're referring to items like ones you can produce, +2 is still in the game. Made a few pc's of the new gear +2. As for drops from mobs or gathering think it's just nq or +3 now.

I actually plan on doing a stand alone article on materia eventually. Systems still pretty new to me, and i would rather do more testing before i try to do a large write up.

No worries at all, i read that all ranges of hq +1-3 are going away in the next major patch, from what i understand at some point it will just be nq and hq.
