Final chocobo suggestions / stamina clarification

I was thinking of going Head Start + Choco Cure, while maxing speed, endurance, and stamina. I just wanted any thoughts on the matter. I know Cunning is actually very useful for the final race challenge, so I'm rethinking what I need.

While I'm at it, I want to make sure I understand what endurance is. My last chocobo, I did only max speed and endurance (she had great genes, but terrible stats). I'm not sure I saw what boosting endurance did. So I'm going to post what I think it does. Feel free to correct me.

Max Speed is the maximum velocity the chocobo can reach.
Endurance is the maximum velocity the chocobo can reach before becoming lathered, and therefore lowers the amount of stamina drain while lathered.

Is that right? Or am I missing something?

The speed part is accurate. I'm not positive about the endurance part. It has always felt quite useful, so I have a gut feeling that it also has a roll of controlling stamina usage beyond merely the lathered state.

Also does it control the absolute maximum velocity for lathered state? Or percentage of your own maximum speed at which you get lathered.

I'm not sure that the theorycrafters even watch this forum (they hang out on Reddit), so you might ask there if you haven't yet.

I can tell you though, since your plan is pretty similar to my own bird, that your bo will do great in Sagoli, and while a bit less effective in Costa and Tranquil it will definitely be sufficient for the challenge. Those other tracks really do favor having a high cunning.

So, yes. The higher your endurance, the faster you can go before getting Lathered.

That should also mean that the bigger the difference between your top speed and your endurance, the more energy is drained by staying in top speed. Maybe I'll make a pure top-speed chocobo with head start and see how fast the drain is to test that. But it seemed like even with a ton of endurance, being at top speed still drained my energy by a large amount. So I don't know.
