Thinking of transferring
Hi guys!
I\\'m currently playing in diabolos playing mostly warrior and paladin and I am really thinking of transferring over to tonberry
Saw in a couple of posts that tonberry has a very accepting community. But I read that the JP players tend to alienate or reject the English speaking players from joining their PF. Is this true?
Also would the DF pose a problem due to the language barrier and possibly different strategies the JP community use? I usually DF everything from new dungeons to EX primals as I don\\'t really have much friends to play with ever since they left the game :(

hello, i been in Tonberry for almost 3 years, precisely 32 months since i started my adventure^^
well, honestly i can't truly answer your first question because i can speak simple Japanese language so i got no problem joining farm Japanese pf for duties that i familiar with. well you might get negative respond from some players who can't speak Japanese language tho..
so far overall, DF not posing problem due to language barrier to me or most of my peeps to clear a duty, but for new duties you may need to use google translate or practice with English players first to clear, then only DF to clear it like normal..
they might use macro to list out strategies in Japanese language in some duties so we need to get familiar with it.. but don worry bout it because most of us used similar/copy macro in Japanese language which is easier for all of us to clear it together. you can ask for advises from fc peeps or ls to double confirm the strategies they used..

it is quite fun that we discover a new ways tho..
the only duty i don't join with Japanese party is endgame raid(midas savage) because there is some culture difference and more complicated Japanese language which is hard for me too lol. one of my ign friend joined a 7 Japanese players raid team but they get pretty well and some of his Japanese friends can speak English too.. so it is really depend on how we approach and make/what kind friends..
btw Tonberry definitely a good place for SEA/Oceanic English speaking players..
p/s: this link is my fc's topic called All Star =D

Hi there! Tonberry's pretty much the International server for the Japanese data centre. We're kinda like birds flocking together: You'll find us mingling, but we don't bother each other and the En/Jp communities tend to leave each other alone.
There are JP-exclusive PFs on Tonberry, but mostly it's because they don't speak English and it would be hard to communicate with them (especially if you're doing end-game content), so joining without the ability to coordinate would be disrespectful.
However, almost all the pick-up parties you get in DF are pretty chill about various languages. Auto-translate rules! Everyone's understanding about the fact that you'll get all sorts in DF.
Come to Tonberry, we're really friendly. :D We'd be happy to have another player!

Yup, the community here's great! But don't let your guard down as there's bound to be baddies around (not a lot but there's always someone out there hellbent on ruining your enjoyment, that's the same everywhere xD ).
I wouldn't worry too much about getting into parties with JP players on DF, since most things that you'd DF have strategies that are pretty solid and universal, so as long as you do your part and everyone else does the same, it'll be smooth running.
As for PF, I feel it is more of a courtesy move to avoid joining JP PFs because there will be a communication barrier and it just makes everything complicated. There's no shortage of EN PFs during peak moments so hopefully you won't really find much problems there.
I transferred here probably about half a year ago, in the same situation as you. I'd say.. don't worry, take your time to settle in, look around at the tons of FC threads here to see if any catches your eye.. and make new friends! ^^ You'll do fine!

Heck yeah you should come over to Tonberry!! We have plenty players (current and new) going around!
We tend to stay away from JP players in PF due to communtication barrier but hey don't let it stop you!! I have met several JP players that speak english and plays well. I went to a Sepex learning party full of JP players and they were awesome! Their style might differ but adjusting is easy:D
There are plenty FC to choose from in Tonberry. Get in one and have loads of fun!! Cheers!! XD

DO IT NOW
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
(On a more serious note if you have large amounts of gil, a lot of what you will buy on Diablos will likely be worth less on Tonberry due to our large economy).
