to make a new character, play though to max level but do every single quest, watch every single cut scene, read every conversation?
how long you think this would take if i did like 10 quests a day?
what job would you go with?
What server?
the only time i would do a different job for those quests was after everything else was done.
only reason for 10 quests a day is i have a main i play where im doing the same thing but not watching or reading anything..just want to get everything to max level.
There are 297 main story quest. So at 10 a day, that would be around 30 days for MSQ alone. Side quest wise, not counting raid content, class/job, and beast tribe quest, you're looking at around 1110 side quest. So everything together, without cutscenes, would take roughly 16 weeks. So close to 4 months. That's if you do 10 a day. I quess watching all the cutscenes would just add a couple hours on to that.
very hard to estimate without checking exactly how many quests there are total and i personally dont know where that number is available
but considering a single level often has dozens of quests tied to it available this could easily take months. possibly a year. maybe more....
eitherway if you started doing it now, you could probably guarantee you would still being doing it by the end of this year.
as for class, ive seen somewhere that, for various reasons, SMN or DRG is more fitting for a story run [but dont ask me why i cant remember the thread]
and DRG is more so for the HW stroy for obvious reasons
So I'd say for story intertwining purposes go DRG.

i think Data Centre is more important overall tbh
I mean....I've burned through 100 story quests in one day before so it honestly depends on how hard you go.
If you try hard, you could probably hit max level with quests done in 3 to one week. (assuming you log on almost 14 hours a day)
