Well I figured I might as well see if I can make new skills for a class I haven't leveled pst 34 :P
(Despite that inexperience, I have a tendency of looking up skills and am aware of both WM and the usual Damage reaction from most other songs)
My first idea will be dubbed "Song of the Twelve", but before I get into that I want to get in three other songs first.
The first is called "Beserker's Rhapsody" a passive that reduces the physical resistance of mobs within hearing range. It can prove to help Melee DPS and help it adapt to mostly Melee comps.
the Second song is called "Crescendo" A skill in that increases Spell Speed and Skill Speed. The counterpart of Crescendo is "Diminuendo" A song that decreases Magic and Physical damage mobs do. Both songs however take 15% more MP than other songs, decrease your own damage by 30% and cannot be used with other songs (last two traits also apply to Beserker's Rhapsody)
Now onto "Song of the Twelve" a skill that like Draw and Ninjutsu, changes to another skill. This skill takes into the account of whether WM an another Song is active and changes to one of 12 (geddit) songs based on that, needing one non-Minuet song to be active to use (its icon also changes based on if the conditions of a song is met). It has a 500 second Cooldown, drains half your MP at once and removes the passive Song required for it (Damage from these songs is also calculated without the 30% decrease the passive songs force on the BRD). There are twelve songs, One group of 6 needling WM and one of 6 Songs that reduce the BRD's damage to activate, the other 6 needs only songs from the latter group. The Songs are:
General idea behind these skills is to have BRD further specialize in support. the 500 second cooldown on Song of the Twelve is done for the sake of balence
- Halone's Oratrio: Brings one person's TP to 1000. needs Army's Paean
- Menphina's Nocturne: 1200 potency Single Target attack. Needs Army's Paean and Wanderer's Minuet
- Thailak's Movement: Gives all aggro of the party to one person. needs Foe Requiem
- Nymeia's Elegy: 500 Potency AoE Attack. Needs Wanderer's Minuet and Foe Requiem
- Llymlaen's Cadence: Brings one target's MP to the maximum limit. needs Mage's Ballad
- Oschon's Concord: Adds 30 seconds to All DoTs on the target, Needs Mage's Ballad and Wanderer's Minuet
- Byregot's Etude: Grants the party immunity to critical hits. Needs Crescendo
- Rhalgr's March: Grants the party a buff that ensures their next hit/heal is a critical hit. Needs Crescendo and Wanderer's Minuet
- Azeyma's Serenade: Removes one debuff from everything within hearing range, Needs Dimenuendo
- Nald'Thal's Dirge: 300 potency AoE attack with a 25 potency DoT for 30 seconds. Needs Dimenuendo and Wanderer's Minuet
- Nophica's Hymn: What Seranade is to Esuna, this is to Convalescence. Giving the party a buff that increases how much HP healing spells restore. Needs Beserker's Rhapsody
- Althyk's Interlude: Extends the cast bar of the target's next sill to 10 Seconds. needs Beserker's Rhapsody and Wanderer's Minuet
So what do you think? too OP? too much like AST?

12 songs to choose from. Out of which few are obviously better than others. On 7min (am I right?) CD. So you get to use 2 if you don't wait for a specific moment to use the berserk+WM one which would render the skill only to be used once per a fight.
I like the idea but tbh. If the potencies stay so high (effects so major) it needs the long CD and thus it changes into somewhat un-useable in the way this game plays.
Not even sure if it'd really work so well if the potencies were lower /effects less impactful.
I think this kind of concept would be nice for the time if we ever get a "real" support role in this game and not just mp/tp batteries as they are atm

These are neat and all, but half of these seem pretty worthless for a 7 min cd. Besides, I doubt you'd have any reason to use anything but the 1200 potency given how fights work anyway. I like these ideas, but the cd seems way too nuts for almost all of the effects it can yield. I like the ideas of the new songs, but as most bards raiding currently would probably tell you, a damage reducing song is absolutely worthless to our kit outside of set downtime periods or areas where slowing down isn't problematic.

While this is interesting and could be nice I was thinking a bit differently for new songs:
AOE party regen song
AOE party haste song
Physical debuff song
With a toggleable skill/stance that basically changes existing songs effects. So that would be 1 skill for 4.0 now. Named maybe the Keeper's hymn. Mage's ballad would become the regen, Army's would become the haste and foe the physical debuff, with the warden's paean becomeing maybe a damage up debuff on the mob or maybe a goad or something like a high potency heal. -
