I'm trying to craft a set of items for me. I've created the Bronze Hoplon, Bronze Barbut, and Bronze Mitts. However...I can't find anything else. I see there's a Dated Bronze Chainmail, but no Chainmail. Am I just totally missing something?
I thought if it contained Dated, then it was updated. So please, someone correct me where I went wrong. It seems I'm having a misunderstanding somewhere.
Just because it became dated doesn't mean there's a new item of the same name, but there's not very many holes in gearing (though you may hang on to a piece of gear for more than the usual 10 levels occasionally). The first armorsmith body is the Iron Scale Mail at 22, but you can use the hempen-acton-(grey) and cotton-tabard-(green) until then. Alternately, keep using dated gear; if you're not melding materia into them the new gear offers no particular benefit.
That's correct. Especially when it comes to crafting tools, many of the dated recipes offer better stats than the new ones.
