Equipment Choices

Hi,

My partner and I have been trying to find some suitable DoL equipment for rank 20 - 30. My Botanist is currently using Dated equipment and I would really like to upgrade it. We have all the crafts to make just about anything within this level range but we are unsure what to make and how to make it. I spent yesterday working out what equipment I would need to get for all my jobs from where they are to rank 50 but DoL seem to have this wide gap from 20 - 40.

I currently use the following:
Head: Dated Tarred Walking Hat +1
Body: Uldah'n Jerkin
Hands: Cotton Work Gloves +2 (STR +3 Materia)
Legs: Dated Sheepskin Culottes +1
Feet: Dated Dodoskin Workboots
Waist: Dodoskin Shepherd's Belt +1

I was wondering if for example Dodoskin Culottes exist and Dodoskin Workboots since I can't seem to find the recipe, even by guessing. I have checked the guilds, vendors and wards but for the most part, this level range is dated or useless. Its mostly legs and feet I want upgraded as Angler's Hat is rank 36. My partner's equipment is ok as I made his all fresh once 1.19 came in but needs upgrading.

I doubt my post will be helpful, as I am not finished tailoring my DoL yet either.

But here's my DoL set.

Head: Dated Fishing Hat / Opt.Lv 27 / Perception+15 /
Head2: Stablemaid's Hat / Req.Lv 10 / Female Only / Gathering+3, Perception+6
Body: Cotton Doublet Vest (Brown) / Req.Lv 22 / Gathering+13, Output+4
Hands: Cotton Workgloves (Yellow) / Req.Lv 21 / Output+8, Perception+4
Legs: :(
Feet: Dated Canvas Gaiters / Opt.Lv 30 / Gathering+11
Waist: Dated Leather Survival Belt / Opt.Lv 17 / Output+5, Perception+3

I am trying to find new pants and new shoes, as well as new belt, but haven't finished my search yet. So far nothing good turns up in my search. I am quite angry that they removed and didn't replace Culottes with any other pants that are good for DoL level 20'ish. I found Ul'dahn Culottes / req 30 / Gathering+4, Perception+8 from MoogleBox.com but I can't wear that for my Miner yet, and I still don't have enough Flame Seals.

Also, if you're gonna look for recipe, there's a database website which has updated post-patch.

Ultimately, yes I agree with you that DoL gear seems to be missing in some (our) level range.

Head : dodoskin-skullcap-(black) or cotton-coif-(green)

Body and Hands are dead on :-)

Legs: cotton-shepherd's-slops-(green) (level 17) leading to velveteen-sarouel-(red) at 25

Feet: dodoskin-espadrilles-(black) at 17, padded-sheepskin-duckbills-(green) at 21,leather-crakows-(green) at 25.

Belt: dodoskin-shepherd's-belt

All of these and body/hands are replaced by the yellow velveteen set at 28 (plus velveteen half apron), then the same with linen at 38. Your dated belt and boots are fine though, as there's no materia for DOH/L for waist or boots right now (other than maybe elemental magic/resistance, of which I have no idea the result). The rest you should get dyed and melded with some cheap materia whenever you can, it's a big boost! Hope this helped!

I must admit, I recently got Velveteen for my DoH and slotted in Materia, I overlooked the dyed clothes completely, still trying to adjust to colour not being aesthetic only, though I do think there should be more choice. From what I have seen for almost all DoH and DoL its velveteen, linen, woolen & felt progressively with only colour changing depending on the stats you need. I'm sure once colour returns to being purely aesthetic there will be more choice, but I would like to see culottes and workboots return for these levels. Thank you for the help!

Thank you, that will be helpful since the other websites seem to be slow at catching up. I did find Gridanian slops but I am still trying to save up for a chocobo, I overspent, but since I only need 500 to get the 3000 I need I don't want to spend anymore. Chocobo = Easy life!
