Character stuck when trying to access Fabrication Station as another person

Steps:
After progressing the project in progress (Tatanora-type Aftcastle, Phase 1/3) myself and another member of the party went to the Fabrication Station to add items for phase 2 at the same time.

The other party member got the menu up to add items to the project, but my screen showed no menu and I was locked on to the Fabrication Station unable to move my character, back out, teleport, exit the game etc.

Had to forcibly terminate the ffxiv.exe process to quit the game and log back in.
