Character copy to other servers [Request]

i know im not the only one that wants this. you have friends on another server but lvling up a alt 60 with all the stuff you have just takes so much time that you cant play with your friends till you get there.

things to copy

• job/class lvls

• bound equipment

• tomes (maybe)

• mounts/minions

• untradable/unsellable items

things to not copy

• Gill

• not bound items

• nothing that can be sold on the market or to NPCs

i am completely fine with paying $20 to do this

I wish we didn't have restrictions on server transfers at all. Go on Balmung when I want to RP. Go elsewhere when I want peace and quiet. Play with my friends on Excalibur, Gilgamesh, wherever. Not require friends I try to get into playing the game to waste playtime trying to get into a full world, or pay for a server transfer.

In a perfect (MMO) world, we would be able to "guest" onto other servers like in GW2. Auction houses and a few things are still linked to your main world/server, but you can go play with friends all you like on other servers with a single button click.

Being able to use my character on any server would be petty awesome. Even if it cost extra to help maintain some type of intermediate lobby server to do so. (Or even if it was just servers within the same data center group)

I like the cross-realm in WoW. Want to roleplay? Find a group from a RP realm and join them/travel to their server's instance. Want to PvP? Well you have buddies on that server, can just group up with them.. Eh

I don't think they can do character copying though, not while they also allow world transfers. Otherwise someone can copy their character to another server that has their crafting classes levelled, make money on both servers (or more?!) and then migrate the characters back across a few months later.

With the gil limitation they'd have to convert the money to items to resell later, or give to multiple alts, but neither of those have stopped many people from taking vast quantities of money with them. As there was a fee initially involved it could even be seen as a form of RMT actually endorsed by Square Enix... they're not going to want that.

Edit: Just thought of another rather big problem. Someone (again with crafters levelled) only has to spend 3 weeks of red scrips on new soul of the crafters, copy their character a few times (ideally to same destination world) and then transfer them all back. Boom they have all specialists on one server. Even if they didn't allow soul of the crafters to be transferred, it'd still take the same few weeks, just the person would have a bit more to do, but for the actual cost compared to having every specialist on one server... I'd do it!

Well I mean. If they allowed a character copy, they wouldn't allow a transfer at all. That would be retarded lol, OP never asked for that

Wish you could just log in to whichever server you wanted, carrying what you are carrying. Your FC, house if you have one, retainers etc, would all be on your home server. There'd be a queue time of course on more popular servers, and if you logged in outside your home server or outside your data center, it would just take that much longer for initial load. That would be fantastic (to me anyway). Fun to go see other "worlds."

If you want this, play Guild Wars 2, all europeans server are connected together and same with US. You can team up with anyone on your datacenter and pop on the same map as him. I actually wonder how they did it, but this is awesome.
Also their system of creting/deleting map when they get full/empty, to make player come across other player more often and never have empty map.
Also, their wadrobe.

Anyway, GW2 system is so awesome that every MMO should take exemple.
