Warrior looking to change to DPS and need some advice

Hi, Playing a Warrior at the moment and up to level 49. But don't like the responsibility of leading in dungeon as a Tank, even though I like my Warrior. Don't know the Dungeons well enough or what to do with the bosses. People have been really helpful, when I screw up, but think I picked the wrong class to start.

Looking for some advice on a DPS class to switch to, been trying Lancer/Archer and already levelled up Pugilist a bit. I just don't know which way to go and don't want to waste time investing in the wrong thing for me. Been playing on/off for some time but still consider myself a noob. Also playing on PS4. but hope with remote play that I can switch to keyboard/mouse if the game doesn't lag too much on my network.

Have the expansion so wondered if I could go DK and DPS? But read a lot telling DK's not to DPS and be a Tank.

Overall just seeking some advice - need something simple to play that is forgiving of my errors :o

Go DRG. Its pretty similar to War in terms of combos and quick stuns. Plus, the level 34 skill Blood for Blood cross class to all of the other physical DPS classes. So it wont be a waste at all.

Dragoon is the easiest for controller user try that to level 60 you might just love it

When I started FF I went for bard. That time I felt bard was a little hard to dish it out. Stopped FF for 6 months. I went back in again as a Dragoon. Really love it. Ninja is also fun to play with all the jutsu. But its all up to your preference tbh. :)

And you can just plug a usb keyboard and mouse into the PS4 if you want to paly with m/kb but tbh the controller is great.

Mnk isn't a bad choise if you want to continue using controller though. Basically only two 3 move combos you can have on L2 square -> X -> circle and then keep holding L2 and use the extended hotbar for the other combo same buttons. Add stuns on triangle on both of those L2 and L2+R2 (in that order so you can just keep holding L2 and push R2 down for the extended hotbar or what they're called.) Add the CD's that are 2min or under on R2 and R2+L2 square-x-circle-triangle and over 2min CD's on any free slot if you have on the square-x-circle-triangle buttons(basically only PB) if theres no room, put it on any d-pad you find easy to use. No need for hotbar switching at all. Only reason I don't use controller myself is the targetting system on controller takes time to learn and I can't be bothered to learn to use it.

While I don't play on controller, I actually found the transition from WAR -> MNK much more smooth than WAR -> DRG. DRG is basically an off GCD machine, more similar to DRK than anything. MNK, meanwhile, is very few oGCDs with a similar rotation to WAR (3 GCD per combo and stuff) just with a lot more positionals. The positionals kinda seem like they'll be overwhelming at first, but the flow just starts coming to you naturally after a bit of practice.

That said, DRG is a lot of fun, and if you enjoy that job better I wouldn't fault you for it. It might even be less hassle on controller, I'm not really sure.

I too found MNK to be an easy crossover from WAR. DRG has a tighter timed buff tacked onto it, but it can feel very rewarding... and battle litany is good in every situation.

The only job i've had trouble with on a controller has been SMN which has had to be macroed on summons to free up enough room for pet abilities on my hotbar. Outside of that controller can accomidate almost any class pretty easily. Especially if the have any skills that aren't applicable to most content (one inch punch, haymaker, feint).

Since Ninja works great along side a Warrior, perhaps Ninja? lol
Drg is another good option
