So i read an article that xblive is opening its doors to cross platform games, will ffxiv be apart of it or stick to pc/sony?

i actually do hope not, tbh. There's enough PC/PS4 animosity as it i already. Enter the XBone and there will be enough drama betweeen XBone and PS4 useres filling chat for days. No thanks!

MS altered their policy to allow Xbox One to see 3rd party game servers and networks, they haven't actually done anything to support such things and have said that its up to developers to implement it in their games. What I haven't seen reported is anything about relaxing requirements on publishers to sell/distribute their DLC through XBL, nor anything to suggest that devs can patch game clients without MS doing their QA process. SE regularly does hot fix patches, and having to submit patches for full testing everytime would be a nightmare for SE, and everyone else, including PC and PS4 players who are just fine with hotfixes.

I never understood how from a business standpoint does halving the content (which players are in MMOs) make the closed off cross-consoles any more attractive. It kills any competition and just stagnates. Would people really care on what platform they play a cross-consoles game? Even if it ran better or had a bit better graphics? Would they switch consoles? Personally I wouldn't, if I buy a console it for the 1st party and 3rd party exclusive, multi-player being cross-platform with PCs would also make some mark as like I said, in multiplayer games players are contento too.

Oh boy, I can't wait for "xbone limitations" to be the new reason for why we can't have nice things.

I've never seen anyone speak ill of PS3/4 players on my server, or vice versa, unless it was to troll other people (which i don't count). People inflate this "problem" to be bigger than what it actually is. It's not like people just go out and shout out what system they're playing on, and it's not like other people genuinely care.

Only way anyone can ever tell you're a console player is if the person examining you is also a console player (or you tell them). Otherwise people can assume you're on the PC (where you can also play with a controller).

PS3 limitations doesn't count.

Phil Spencer said on twitter that he would be all for FFXIV on Xbox :)
