The tab targeting in this game really pisses me off. Who's with me?

When mobs are decently lined up from left to right and I just finish killing the left mob, if I tab target, the chances are usually high that I WON'T get the mob closest to me in fact I'll get the one on the "other side" of the row.

This is just something that really frustrates me to no end. I know I'm not the only one. Who's with me on creating public awareness to push for algorithmic changes to how the tab targeting works in this game?

I got used to it during 2.x. I think it follows the letters next to their names. Not sure though since I just about don't bother with tab target unless there is only 1 or 2 mobs in view.

if you are a kb/m player the easiest thing to do in a pack is using the enemy list to one click your next foe. idk if controllers can do the same easily.

But I honestly have no idea how people play games like this with a controller. kb/m give so much ease of control

Honestly, clicking the enemies in the list is literally "I click my hotbars"-tier gameplay. Like if the tab targeting wasn't garbage it would be a lot smoother than clicking.

The only time I think the enemy list is useful in an optimal scenario(e.g. if the tab targeting was better)is for managing threat on multiple mobs and for clicking on marked enemies if they're a few tabs over. Otherwise it's not as efficient.

Try tab targeting in 72-man Seal Rock. XD

or turn the character to the wanted enemy, clear current target and press X

Yes it is very frustrating. At least on console it is.

the tab scrolling need to change to cycling from nearest to furthest mob.

I barely use it anyway.

assign "target nearest enemy" and "target nearest PC" to the keys of your choice. It'll make your life a lot better.

wait, whats wrong with clicking enemy? if im dpsing mob A, then i wanna go to mob C without cycling thru mob B, clicking mob C would be the fastest route

I meant on mass pulls, I usually tab target but if you need 1 specific mob in a very large group, enemy list just makes things faster for me. As a smn main, however I have gotten good at my timing so as I am casting that last ruin on a mob I am targeting my next kill for absolute zero downtime between casts.

The only time tab targeting really annoys me is when you try for a specific mob in a field of mobs and it targets one not even on your screen or a mob 30 yalms away and not the one directly in front of you. Esp when in other games you can target things so swiftly and easily by tabbing.

But I have come to expect SE to be behind the curve. It's amazing how things work so well in other games but SE is still using clunky systems from 10 years ago and when they do switch they present it like brand new technology lol. See -jump- for instance.
