Most of that 205 gear is terrible anyway. I don't really see how it'd be rewarding to change the level sync. Morale just increases ilvl anyway. Besides we tried no sync before and it was really bad.
I could go for the 150 sync being upped to i190-200, but removed? It'd be a mess.
The cap is there to make sure the playing field is even. You shouldn't be winning PvP because you had better gear, it should instead be dependent on skill. In the old wolves den, a lot of PvPers were "pro" not because of their skill, but because their moral gear allowed them to be untouchable by anyone without moral, and they only got that moral gear due to grinding and being an early adopter.
The current 150 cap is fine because it allows any piece above 150 to be used, so that you have a wide selection of gear that you can use to optimize your secondary stats and allow for some customization.
Gear based PvP works better for open world PvP, which FFXIV does not have.
Regarding gear I dont understand why is there morale stat in game, pvp materia, pvp 205 gear when you cannot use it nobody ... seems like SE failed to desing pvp.
