Just got back into the game

Now i'm back out. lol my new video card died, and I won't get my "replacement" until Monday.

I had the same exact problem.. got the in the game.. 3 days later GFX card was shot :/ so I had to get it replaced.. which took 2 weeks :/

My video card also generated more heat than usual...it was fixed when I put in a cooler on it though that I got this week.

Hrm...this doesn't bode well for me then. I don't have much of a budget to go on, and if my video card gets fried I'll have no choice BUT to wait for the PS3 version.

My wife's power supply exploded in glorious fashion the other day playing XIV. However, it was the video card. There was a driver release a while back that screwed a TON of 2xx series nVidia cards, and my wife's 260 was one of them. For some reason, even running simple flash apps, it would peg the fans and get borderline overheated. XIV was enough to get the horked video card to pull enough juice to kill a 600W power supply with 24A on the 12V rails...

oh man... did you replace it? I had a 6850. I know it had to be a bum card, but I hope it isn't common.

Not yet. I yanked the video card and will try to power up the system with a 300 watter (mb has a built in vid card).. HOPEFULLY the fail-safes in the power supply saved the rest of the equipment, or I'm out a good $500.

wait a minute... 6850 and it dies? weird.. im playing on a 6870 :| been months using it and is still alright :X
