Hitting the books again, a returning SCH has lost his bookmarks.

according to my in-game counter it has been 356 days.
the last patch I played was introducing Ice Heart. There is some definite catching up on content mechanics, if there's something new I should be wary of please post. I shall record it all in my 3.5 edition book of 'notice & heal me senpai'.
Lustrate, admittedly I disproved of the change, but have actually come to not mind it. However looking forward to some of the new skills. Dissipation has us throw our beloved faerie partners to the curb for 3 aether. I feel like this, personally and flavor wise is just mean. I do not know if there's lore behind the acquisition of this, IE; the faerie becoming aether and "enhancing" us directly. That aside I'm just really finding that I'm too enamored by my faerie buddies to do this to them. However I have not entered into 3.0+ content, so to receive some insight as to its actual value.

Aside from the purple taste after eating your fairy, the use of Dissipation is limited for most of it. You could consider two uses for it:
First would be for the emergency stacks you have to have within the next couple of seconds - For indomitability, for example
Secondly would be if you need that little bit of "oomph" when you need that 20% extra healing. Usually for Succor Spam or for that bit of extra shielding (Adlo+Deployment Tactics) if the limit break building phase took too long

Reminder: Either scenario's aren't very common

And that's what I kind of felt towards it. lol, however say i use Eos' illumination then it? will it stack to 40? and is that 20% for party or just on self?
(I much prefer the idea of bonding with the faerie for a 'healer beserker mode' versus Soup de' le Selene...)

That's usually what I do, and yes they stack, but even then I do it mostly at my FC house just to see how much I can heal for. The % buff from Dissipation only applies to your heals, unlike Fey Illumination which effects anyone with the buff.

I use Dissipation on huge pulls after I've used Whispering Dawn if I foresee the mobs lasting a good bit longer than the buff. Don't feel bad about ditching the fairy, I use it with ease during some boss fights when regens aren't needed. You can start with Selene for the nice speed buffs, then when the fight gets heavy with raid AoE or an ultimate, just Dissipate for some big Succors/Adlos and in a few secs just call another fairy. It's situational, but you can find times to use it if you want to make use of it.

I main Astrologian but have Sch to 60 ilevel 210 and it's an absolute healing power house, you will love it.

I've always loved SCH, and it's good to know he's still viable.

Dissipation to me is kind of our PoM. It's the closest thing to a healing increase that doubles as a dps increase that we have. Some uses are:

1) Quickly get a stack of aetherflow before the encounter
2) When used wisely and in conjunction with aetherflow can be an mp gain. Energy drain x 3 or using indom/lustrate instead of succor/adlo.
3) Bursting Energy Drains to end a boss fight
4) Getting an on demand aetherflow to bane with
5) Emergency patching up a tank/party before a large hit wrecks.
6) Quickly picking up the slack of a dead co-healer
7) Getting a free stack of aetherflow before a long boss animation [think ravanas bloody fuller]

It's a very flexible skill

Lol maybe its just me, I get too attached to npcnpc's cohorts minions and what not.
(One time in a d&d campaign my character married a barkeep to attempt hostile takeover...totally fell headover and spent the rest of campaign with the npc by my side)

But even so, Dissipate is useful if Lily's taken some heavy AoEs or some add hate and is about to kick the bucket anyway. It gives you the strong heals and stacks you'll need to make it until Aetherflow/Swiftcast comes off cooldown and you have the MP and time to bring her back.

yeah as I mentioned in OP It would be amazing to have some background flavor to this ability, I sadly haven't yet gotten to it or seen since returning. but the idea of the faerie becoming aether and "bonding" with us or creating a aura would make me feel alot better about the ability. as of now the main vibe is..."yeah that mp i used to summon you, taking that back now kthanks bai" Eos is far to precious xD I just cant.
