Cannot Roll Need on Gear

While in Darkhold today, the templar's haubergeon dropped. It's a tank chest piece. I was unable to need on this item EVEN as a lvl 46 PLD. This gear is for my class and I am not level synced. This has happened in previous dungeons, I just didn't think anything of it. But this time I confirmed. I've had a friend who had this same issue with tank in Diadem. Being unable to roll need on the items, despite them being for a tank.

I think it's actually DPS gear that's also usable by tank. http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Templar's_Haubergeon

Tank exclusive gears that are dropped in Dzemael is the Sentinel's set, and since tank can exclusively rolls a Need on that, they made it so only DPS call roll Need on Templar's gear.

Well copy that. I guess we never realized that it was designed like that. Ok, sorry for being a dumb dumb. Thanks for the info.
