new character class question

so i skipped the main story the first time around but now i wanna redo it so i was going to make a new character but i havent played the game in ages, i was thinking of making a whitemage for faster que times for the story missions but i was wondering if the primal hard/ex fights were apart of the main story if so i'll just go dps i dont wanna fight titan extreme anymore it still gives me nightmares

Don't worry, the EX Primals are not part of the main scenario, so you don't have to do them with your new character.

All Hard Mode Primals are part of it, though. But you get a lot of good gear throughout the main scenario quests, so you are outgearing them very easily (besides them being very easy anyways).

Also in most cases, majority of the people in DF group for the HMs have been doing them more than often enough so one player "just passing through" is not an issue to anyone involved.
