"Job XXX only" parties
...and here we go again. People in Ul'dah shouting for "Job XXX only" for the LV50 Ifrit fight. For those of us who did not jump on the powerleveling bandwagon soon enough to get the jobs they do not really like to play leveled, it simply sucks.
It's astonishing SE actually managed to repeat the class-exclusivity mistake once again.
And don't tell me it's the players fault. It's a design flaw when the same content is easily beatable by job combination X, but a job combination Y will decrease your chances of success by factor 5. Especially since there's no alternative to Conjurers. Which people like to invite 3/8 members. :p

I think its just because of the newness, even DH eventually evened out in most cases.

I've yet to see this on my server. What jobs are they restricting parties to? O.o

its alittle unfair to blame the design team for this. there is only so much testing they can do. then when it goes live the comunity almost always find out things that have been missed by the dev's. this is not exculsive to FF14 it happens with almost all new content in all MMO's. we can only hope the dev have noticed this flaw and have plans to fix it. either that or get casting

Wow is patch 1.21 out already? I didn't know we had jobs!!!
Just try making your own party.

In FF games, its always has been " Having the the right combination of Class/job" Always need a couple healers, or else your Tank/party will die, Always need a Tank or your party won't last against his/her attacks, Always Need DD/nukes to take down your foe, if you have no Damage you won't kill the foe ( especially a boss).
You do need " somewhat" of a setup. The DD aspect of it all I get anything related to Damage. BUT, I always get a GLA/2~3 healers/ Rest DDs. If you don't have that Basic Formula, You will die @ a boss at the very least.

WoW has this same issue.
So does FFXI,
So does Rift
Class based games need certain classes to accomplish content.
Thats how it works.

never knew "jobs" already are out... .

This Thread is about Mac and Cheese....

I haven't seen this yet. And I'm not sure what class would be considered better than others in Ifrit like in Darkhold.
Are you sure it's just not a result of needing a balanced party for once? DDs tend to be the first spot to fill so people need to shout for tanks and healers.
