The sad fate of i180 crafted battle gear

The 180 crafted stuff has been out for quite some time now and yet On every server I've looked the sets are awfully rare with some peices never showing up on the mb. ever. This is likely due to the red scrip items they require and I feel like they should change the recipes for these sets to other ungated mats. The sets look very nice (especially Fray's armour) and it seems kinda sad that they'll continue to be so hard to obtain when they really aren't worth the crafting cost they've been given.

Aren't they just carbon copies of already existing gear?

Also in 3.2 you can get those red scrip crafting mats by trading in brass spoils from Diadem and they can drop in dungeons.

For a short period you could get them for Law, but now you get materials for the new crafted gears (with esoteric).

The I180 pieces have already failed their purpose(s) on release. You could easily get upgraded law gear (Which is the same ilvl and much less expensive since it doesn't require a weekly locked currency), and has exactly the same model as the ilvl 160 pieces for glamour purposes (if you can even call it that, since the BRD/MCH one is a recolor of a piece they can already use in 2.x); especially since the i160 is much much cheaper to craft in comparison.

For Frays armor the body piece is a direct copy of the Chivalric coat of Fending but the rest of it is unique, especially the helm. Sadly its only purpose is glamour and on my server I am not spending almost 10mil+ on glamour.
