Hello all,

In relation to the last patch, there has been a lot of debate and discussion regarding features that were implemented (or not implemented). It would be interesting to see people's clear opinions on these matters without filtering through debate, and it might help the devs also.

1. Do you believe the NOVICE channel is working as intended in regards to general chat being allowed?

2. Which would you rather have, unisex gear, or counterparts for each piece of gear released for both male and female?

3. Did you enjoy the 3.2 storyline?

4. What is your favourite aspect of the patch and why?

1. Can't answer since I'm not joining it.
2. Depends. If it's headgear like bunny ears it should be unisex.
3. Much better than 3.1.
4. Somehow I like the crafting even it's really insane to do it, because now crafting gear become lively. And Orchestrion.

6. Please make the sound of Orchestrion by room not by where player standing.
7. Amdapor HM with it's holiest view/All midas raid/Sephirot of course.

1. I believe it's the best they could do without turning it into a dictatorship players would quickly get sick of and stop using it. Is it being used as intended? No. Can they do much about that? Not really.

2. I would rather have dynamic gear that changes look based on gender maybe even race but I think it would cause a lot of upset in this community because it wasn't that way from the start. Really no matter what they do not everyone will like it. I think at least on basic gear it should have a different look for each gender sometimes it just looks weird for one gender like a lot of cloth on males.

3. Yes. It was a lot longer than the last patch which really felt like filler for the story. I don't recall much of the story from the last patch at all but this one had some cool moments.

4. A great deal of content at once to play through, New mounts,new gear,Hildy is back

5. WHM still gets nothing. Besides the new skills that came with new levels that all classes got WHM never gets any adjustments new things buffs etc. The only things WHM had to look forward to is having things taken away or being hit with the nerf bat. Oh and Hildy quests were really short with no trial or anything.

6. Oh I dunno really besides the aforementioned WHM class adjustments.

7. A7 maybe. A lot of Alexander Midas is fun. I like the mechanics and how silly they are. Everybody gets to do something it's just an amusing fight.

Not at all - to me it's just been one big disaster for the entire game, and the trouble is, it was doomed before it was even added, and you only had to look at FFXI to see how this was not going to end well. FFXI's mentor system was equally counterproductive, being used simply to inflate player egos and not actually help those who needed it (there was an old joke in FFXI that it was 'the mentors were really the ones who needed mentoring!'), and history has repeated itself here in FFXIV, only this time it is worse - as FFXI's version did not include a chat channel, it at least kept the problems with the system insular so to speak. That has just opened the floodgates and let all hell break loose.

2. Which would you rather have, unisex gear, or counterparts for each piece of gear released for both male and female?

I'm perfectly fine with gender-specific gear - players need to understand that it takes a large amount of resources to have to model a piece of gear for every gender and race, and when you increase the amount of races, that only adds to the gear modelling that has to be done. Like or not but that's the price that has to be paid when you have multiple races in the game that use 'paperdoll' graphics to show visible equipment.

3. Did you enjoy the 3.2 storyline?

I haven't started it yet due to working on other things - I take my time and pace myself through this game so I'm in no hurry to undertake it.

4. What is your favourite aspect of the patch and why?

From what I've done so far? Probably the orchestrion (despite it's minor flaws), and also Law-tome gear now being sold by Clan Centurio - I now have something worthwhile to spend all those previous useless Clan Centurio seals on! ;)

5. What is your least favourite aspect of the patch and why?

From what I've played? I'm not really sure about changes to the map coordinates in Heavensward areas were a good idea - it's now making shouting spawn locations for Hunt NMs more confusing. The Mentor system is a huge disaster as well (for the reasons I already mentioned), and the Hall of the Beginner really needs tweaking, as some of the trials are... headscratchers (and really are not reflective of actual gameplay techniques players will need to learn during the game). I was a little disappointed also that the Antitower required a minimum ilevel 180 to undertake, but that's minor (I really need to get off my lazy butt and upgrade my gear! :p).

6. What would you improve about patch 3.2?

Outside of scrapping the stupid Mentor system... nothing is really that bad that requires major changes.

7. What is your favourite dungeon/raid?

I haven't undertaken any new dungeons or raids so I can't answer this.

1. Yes, I feel that mentors should be free to chat in novice chat if no novice is requiring help. What I don't agree with is discussion of any fights or mechanics in novice chat to avoid potential spoilers. Everything else tho is fine for me.
2. Counterparts for both male and female. And if they can help it an equal amount, this patch was pretty good on this point imo.
3. Story was pretty cool imo, enjoyed only problem now is I gotta wait for more :P
4. New minions, gear , housing items , tt cards and music. To put it simply I just like collecting stuff.
5. The grind for the crafting tomes. I felt they should have lowered the previous tomes and kept the new ones at the same price.
6. My only real complaint is the blue scripts cost really, which isnt overly a bad thing just a bit more grinding.
7. Only done the two dungeons but out of those two antitower. looking forward to doing the rest.

Just finished up Antitower. Enjoying it very much!

4. What is your favourite aspect of the patch and why?
The Orchestrion which is rather neat. Usually someone always has a different tune queued up at the house so it's always nice to hear something different.

5. What is your least favourite aspect of the patch and why?
I wouldn't say least favorite but would have liked more Hildy. :(
OH I just thought of something -- the intro for Antitower dungeon. Got a little headachy and nauseous with the opening CS/camera movement.

6. What would you improve about patch 3.2?
There was a lot of hard work that went into the patch. Thank you devs! I can't think of anything off-hand that would have improved things at least from my little point of view.

7. What is your favourite dungeon/raid?
Honestly, I like the two dungeons for different reasons. Antitower has such a neat look although I'm sure the dolls will be nightmare fuel for some. The Lost City HM kind of reminds me of Sky from FFXI.

While I'm not a Mentor, I have a few friends that are. It varies from server to server, but overall? It's a clusterfuck. There were no general guidelines on what should go on in the NC. Mentors just idling, talking about things not revelant to the game. Using it as a way to sell things, PF recruiting, etc. It needs to removed and have major changes completely.

2. Which would you rather have, unisex gear, or counterparts for each piece of gear released for both male and female?
More unisex gear for gals and guys. Make those bunny outfits at the Saucer for guys! (A few male FC mates of mine would look gud)

3. Did you enjoy the 3.2 storyline?
In the middle. Was wondering if we would see the WoDs again. Disappointed that didn't happen! But the Ishgard vs Gridania, Ul'dah, and Limsa fight was pretty fun.

4. What is your favourite aspect of the patch and why?
THE CUTE GLAMOUR...! ANTITOWER! Except the creepy dolls omg.

5. What is your least favorite aspect of the patch and why?
A5 A5 A5 A5. A5! It needs a redesign. The whole fight is just stupid, and I wanna smack the people who designed with a frying pan. xD

6. What would you improve about patch 3.2?
Ehh...how the whole Orchestrion stuff was brought it. It's more of a hassle to get the shit crafted, and I wish it was a bit simpler to get the songs you want.

7. What is your favorite dungeon/raid?
Lost City (HM). That last boss fight was actually pretty neat. :D

Actually on Diabolos it seems fine, people are helping noobs as intended quite kindly too

What they have been doing is fine I suppose

Yes, I wish it was a tad longer.

Midas.

Hmmmm...Lore gear.

Moar content. And....In the same vein as Ex primal difficulty content, I'd really love an "Ex dungeon" that requires thought and skill for an alternative to the easy daily expert roulette

Midas is great, & I like Amdapoor too, though the last boss could've been tougher D;

1) I honestly don't know: for one thing I barely can get into it, and secondly I doubt mentorship is that required. I suppose It's ok

2) Having a choice for both would be better and it's a nice variation in general. But either way, I really don't mind because I rarely spend my money on those costumes.

3) I don't follow the story so, no comment.

4) Definitely the tank's improvement: being able to use vitality only gear and seeing that it works fine really makes me happy to play tank again, especially warrior.

5) Stone, Sky, Sea. I honestly thought it would actually help me out "somehow", even though I wasn't exactly expecting much but it's essentially a timed dummy with barely any feedback. This is just my take however.

6) I just want a sort of dps meter or something that can tell me about my damage: as I lately play dps classes I really feel frustrated that I don't know how I am really doing.

7) Favourite is a strong word: I liked the new dungeons but that's it. I only did A5 so far and I hated it. I liked Sephirot though.
