Problems with "A Spectacle for the Ages"

I have trouble beating the Flame general in this quest. He does this final mega spell called Flame something, and I can't live through it or beat him before he casts it. I don't have trouble with health during the fight, it's just this final spell. Does anyone have any tips? I play with BLM with ilvl 190.

Its like the Ifrit battle, if its the attack i am thinking off, you have to kill the 'nails' to survive his Immortal Flames attack

I have only played this game this game for a month and have rushed through certain content, like Ifrit. I did not think about attacking the nails, such a noob :P Thank you very much, I will try this!
