New weapons too far off?
So, I'm kind of confused.
Usually, the first order of business for DPS and tanks is saving up for a new weapon.
I planned on doing that here, too (especially since the secondary stats for all my main classes are so, so beautiful <3), but was told by my FC mates that the weapons won't be obtainable until months down the line.
Reason: 7 tokens are needed to buy one special tomestone for the weapon trade-in in Idyllshire, and only one token can be obtained per week and only from A8, which places a new weapon about 2 months away minimum.
By then, we'll have 3150 lore, and since only 1000 are needed, we can buy like half of our new gearset before the weapon even comes close.
If that's true, it really sucks >.>
Can someone clarify? Maybe it's all just one big misunderstanding..

I like it this way better. Either wait 7 weeks or beat a7s, makes weapons more meaningful

Gives Sephirot weapons time to be relevant and lets you buy chest, legs and gloves with your new tomes and still have enough left over for your weapon once you've got all your alex items for it.
It's a nice system.

Might be nice for people who only gear up 1 class. I have 3 somewhat main classes to gear; I can compromise on other stuff but the weapon is super relevant. Even if I never miss one week, getting those weapons is a minimum of SIX MONTHS off. That's half a year.
That doesn't sound good even as a joke..

You could get a i220 weapon from Sephirot EX. No lockout there,

I'm actually super happy about this change. I always have felt so much content becomes irrelevant so fast because you can out class the drops with a tome weapon. This change and the time it takes to save up for one allows me to feel as though I can progress through content and it has greater meaning. I can gear myself through alex normal then grind for my lore gear. I will get my weapon from Sephirot and this is a greater incentive to do so.

I'll admit I'm not sure how I feel about them gating tome gear behind alex if that is whats happening here. I noticed the weapon required 10 of the 100 lore per tokens but wasn't sure what the other thing was that the trade in required until I saw this. As someone who has always just gone for tome gear because I don't do high end raiding, it...kinda ticks me off that I'm being backed into a corner and told you /have/ to do this for your tome weapon this time. Usually there are raid weapons, tome weapons and extreme trial drops, giving you a few ways to earn a higher level weapon even if some methods give you slightly higher item level drops than the others. They pretty much just took one option away and less variety is never good in my book.

At least some jobs share gear... unless you want to play one healer, one tank and one dps like I do. ._.
I seriously wish SE would make a distinction between the main job and alt jobs, making it less time-gated to gear up the secondary ones.

Hmmmm I am confused.....so u r saying both Midas-4 normal and Midas-4 savage will drops tokens/pages needed to get the weapons? If so this is a new thing for tomes weapons...... it's interesting...... I think SE is trying out something new here. Maybe that explains why Sephirot's weapons all have slots for materias melding to make it last longer beyond its ilv 220 much like that extra +ilv5 they did back with Leviathan and Shiva ones but this time with materias to boost.
Also Yoshi did mentioned Midas Savage won't be as tight-dps as Gordias Savage thus getting lore weapons isn't that priority. Moreover, by then the anima weapons upgrade will be introduced thus making it more in line with the lore weapons in terms of ilv.
