So what's the point of PvP Ranks now?

Genuine question.

If you're going to remove old ranks on gear and give us new gear with no ranks on it, then what's the point, save getting a few extra AP to use on PvP skills?

People will just PvP for a day to get the armor they want and never return. What the hell is the point? Did you do it just so you could breathe life into Frontlines and then abandon it when Feast comes out, as you've done with every other PvP mode thus far?

Why does no one see the value in the AP?

Shorter cooldowns for critical PvP abilities
Increased stats
more potency

It's like saying "Why even give us levels? It's not like the extra stat points we get do anything to help us."

I never said I didn't see the value in AP, I enjoy have rank 50 for my enhanced skills, but they essentially neutered ranks almost completely, save AP and a few titles. That's literally all it's there for at this point.

i agree there is no point in pvp rnk , its such a shame , its one thing to remove it off 180 but all ? new pvp rnk and armor was the only thing i was looking forward to and now its gone , most dont care enough for ap points , yes they are useful but noone is gonna grind as much as veterans , its a real shame they basically null out all that grinding everyone did to get the best armor for pvp or glamour , with no rnk rq pvp will die , even when wolfs den 2 comes out , usa servers doont care for pvp like japan ones , they just care about glamour and pve , now ill just be waiting for for pvp ques till black desert comes online and it sucks i really like this game but now theres no point sooner or later there gonna nurf everything and make it were anybody can just get anything easy and then everyone will be wearing the same stuff just like before glamour was implemented and like a fool ill be here still paying just to afk =/

I was about to open a thread about the same thing. I'm very disappointed as well. Seriously SE, what were you thinking removing ranks from gears? The gears requiring ranks were the best part about PvP, it was a reward we worked for but now you killed it.

I'm no longer interested in PvP as before.

If you do thins you like vanity, not pvp.
Wolf marks and tomestones are there just because you are in a pve based game so because you are spending your time for a content you will be awarded with something that you can spend in wider game.

Ranks are there for setting the AP you want I just would like more customization for it because actually for some classes at rank 50 you can touch almost all the Actions and Trait needed for it, I hope they will fix Traits stat bonuses and add a 4rth tier for them or even (wet dreams about it) make those Stat bonus traits all way stronger for not your job main stats.
Like a "huge" mind bonus for tank/DPS classes, but this is just a random personal wish x)

I feel like ranking should have nothing to do with abilities or gear. The PvP should be a level playing field, and winning should be skill/strategy alone, not who had more time to grind for gear or AP points. AP/gear should only exist to allow PvPers to customize a build, and should all be available at the start.

I feel appropriate rewards should be things like glamour, mounts, achievements, titles, PvE gear/ability enhancements, etc, which can be tied to rank. Other appropriate things would be matchmaking or "seasonal rankings" based on the rank. Things people would want, but nothing that would change the outcome of a PvP match.

Well arent ranks there as another layer to deter people from hopping from GC to GC - thereby also detering people from match fixing? I dunno. Theyre ok as is imo. But they can definitely be more exciting.

There is a reason why this game is MMORPG and not some FPS.
Or let's remove PVE gear. Everyone will be equal once reached level 60... Or wait... why do we need levels then? Anyone just starting the game should be able to PVE end-game content! Right? Wrong...
