Needs more housing availability

I've been a player off and on for a bit, and one of the strange things I've really come to enjoy is player housing. I like seeing how people decorate and the creativity it gives you. The housing mechanic is really well done and I'm impressed with the games direction on this.

What I don't like is as a somewhat newer player, I have zero chance of ever owning a home outside the FC bedroom. I've dropped about 4 million gil on this and really want to have my own perm home. I've scoured all the FC housing zones for available plots, but it just never happens. It really takes away a huge part of the game for me knowing that there is zero chance..

When will the rest of us finally have a chance?

I found a Goblet house open this morning, I didn't snap it up though cause the plot was a medium. I'm waiting on a large, which likely means waiting til 3.3.

Yoshi has said in 3.3 they are doubling the number of wards in each housing zone - "Look forward to it" - then the ishgard apartment Housing comes in 3.5

You might want to check whatever source you got that from because it's completely wrong.

The only info we have is that we are getting more wards (no specific number) in 3.3. We're also getting apartments akin to FC private rooms but available to everyone.

Beyond that Ishgardian housing is confirmed to be coming after the conclusion of the Dragonsong War. The war is likely to end in 3.3 so expect that in 3.4. There is no 3.5 in the 3.X patch cycle; this was stated at 3.0's launch as they want to release the next expansion sooner.

Was said in the live letter before the last one that we get more wards in 3.3 for old housing areas how many though was not confirmed. It also was said that Ishgard housing comes after the new wards with a set timeframe of "after Dragonsong War ends". The apartments didn't have a set timeframe yet. I would like a source for that information too please. If it's true that's actually exciting news.

Yes, there is a problem with housing, but I found a small plot on lavender beds (Cerberus) this morning after three week of checking. Look every day, you'll eventually find something.

The last two weeks i also saw two or three houses getting free. This is really nice for the 3 players, that had enough luck to catch one of them. But this is no solution for the housing problem. There are so many people having no house, getting more and more frustrated. And if you can be online only in the evening hours like i am, you will never have a chance to catch a house.

On Leviathan there is never any housing open. It's been booked for a long time... I've checked for months.
