"If you holy from the flank or rear you will miss less"

I'm very curious as to whether this statement is true or not. I can't find proof one way or another anywhere, and it's incredibly hard to test. Casters have always had a flat accuracy cap but is there an accuracy cap for them when hitting from the rear? I never believed there was, so when I heard this statement I was confused and went searching.

Magic always registers as a rear hit no matter what. This is why black mages always have the lowest accuracy caps in coil/savage.

Think this person thought white mages were physical for some reason?

Magical accuracy is different than physical, including ranged physical. The position doesn't matter at all.

I did some testing on Faust in AS1, here's the number's I got.

Holy from the rear = 19.05% Miss Rate

Holy from front = 17.65% Miss Rate

I conclude that casters are not affected by positional's in regards to accuracy.

There is no accuracy on Healing gear at present so there is no real need to debate anything about missing imo. It's just a massive waste of MP if you do atm >.>, "Stone III MISS"...

Spamming Holy in raids is often a waste of MP, however, DPSing in raids isn't a waste of MP at all. My Stone III miss rate was 3% on my last AS3 clear. I normally run about 92%-94% accuracy overall without a BRD using Rain of Death to bump it even higher. I'm looking forward to melding accuracy once the patch hits though and/or getting crafted gear with accuracy melded. I miss my Nirvana Zeta with fully melded accuracy :'(

Did not actually know about this (that positioning doesn't matter for attack magic), so +1 to this thread for informing
