Swords on back
While playing the fishing job for the first time I noticed that their idle and item draw is the same animation for GLD/PLD but when the item is sheathed it's on their back.
In short, give us the option to have, and optionally lock, swords on back for GLD/PLD jobs please. I'm not the only one who've been asking for this on the job and I'm sure this will be easy to animate as it's proven to be done with the fishing job.
A lot of people would love to have this small, yet most wanted feature. Thank you.

A lot of weapons would clip through the swords, then they'd also have to change the positioning of them on NPCs in storyline cutscenes.
Plus it makes a lot more sense to have heavy weapons (2h)/staves/shields/tools on the back, and lighter/1h weapons on the hips.
Not to mention that the fishing class stuff shrinks down for ease of carrying, and turns into a two handed tool when being used to fish. (Plus there's more 'wanted features' over something that's just a sheathed weapon change)

paladin already has his shield on the back, this would clip horribly o.@;

All the DoLH jobs have pld animations, but lack the shield. Just trying to imagine having a Curtana and holy shield on my back (as an example) boggles my mind

Shields being held on the back and swords on the hip when sheathed is actually a holdover from the original version of FFXIV (1.0), where at launch shields were an entirely separate class to GLA (called 'Sentinel' or SEN for short), thus they needed to be held separately on the character (this is the same reason why CNJ/WHM and THM/BLM also have one handed weapons as well, because they too could, and still can, equip certain types of shields in addition to their weapon).
I really don't see this being changed actually, as despite GLA/PLD abilities often making use of a shield, you actually do not have to have a shield equipped, hells, GLA doesn't even start with a shield but just a sword (the off hand slot is empty). So this visual change really serves no purpose other than a minor visual effect that would probably just cause problems with clipping than SE would be willing to tolerate I'm afraid.
