Best BLM 60 rotation?
Hi guys,
I cracked 60 BLM just a short while ago and have been reading the forums on what the best rotation and so far its like 50 different ways to cook a chicken. I have been getting criticism in game from some of the elitists and their 'pearls of wisdom' (some polite, some damn rude) about my rotation. I am at lvl 165 and want to have this down before I go into Alexander.
If anyone could provide suggested rotations that are effective that would be great. I think also a lot of people don't bother to ask if you are on PC or PS4 which makes a big difference in gameplay.
Also, Im trying to figure some of the acronyms used in suggested rotations. If anyone could also be so kind to elaborate on the following for me please?
1. Proc? (Im guessing procedure but if so what procedure?)
2. QS?
3. Spam?
4. Raging?
5. Quelling?
6. Pot?
Thanks guys, any answer or advice is much appreciate as usual!

Proc refers to things like Firestarter or Thunderstorm which "proc" upon casting your spells. QS and Quelling are the same thing, Quelling strikes, which is a cross class ability that reduces your Enmity generation. Raging strikes is an ability which increases your damage output by 10%. Both of those are from Archer. Pot refers to a potion of intelligence, more specifically a Draconian potion of intelligence. I wouldn't concern yourself with the potion unless you're in high end Savage raids and there is an intensive DPS push, which there likely won't be in the upcoming Midas Savage content.

As Judah explained the acronyms, lets make it for the Rotation.
As BLM level 60, without "too much" theorycrafting etc... it boils down to get out as much Fire4 as possible, preferably, while your cooldown or pot is active.
Therefore, you must have Enochian activated.
You can make 2x Fire4 before you must refresh your your AF3 stack with a Fire1... or you make 3x Fire4 if the Fire1 gave you a "Proc" > instant cast for Fire3.
Using Blizzard3 to get back in Mana-Regeneration - there I prefer a Thunder 1 and Bliz4 (refreshes your Enochian Timer) ... Thunder 1 dependant of how much time i got left on Enochian and how mana-regen kicked in (do i need 2 casts to get full Mana, or is one enough)
etc...
so to recap, 2 things for a BLM to always remember
1) never stop casting, move as less as possible (except for dodging stuff)
2) dish out as much Fire4, keep you stacks and Enochian up.
that is - basically and very simple - what a BLM is about. Now to not take you all the fun, you go figure where your other skills like Sharpcast, Swiftcast, Raging Strikes, etc.. fit in. (little tip, you have a lot of skills like Sharpcast which can be activated between 2 GCD-dependent casts, the advanced player speaks about "weaving xx between gcd"
Or you watch some guides and learn the dogma of the endgame therymages ^^

Hey guys thats actually very useful and thanks for clearing up the confusion with the abbreviations. I did go to the practice attack dolls and spent some time coming up with something that I think works but any fine tuning recommendations I welcome...see what you think below...
BLM Rotation
Opening:
T1>Sharpcast>F3>Ley Lines + Enochian>F4+F4+F1>(T3P)>F4+F4>B3
Transition (Sharpcast with CD)
B4>F3
After sharpcast CD
Sharpcast>Swiftcast>F1>F3>F4+F4+F1>(T3P)>F4+F4>B3
Renew Enochian
(repeat from beginning)
Doing it this way with no screw ups I can manage to keep the Enochian chain running without interruption. Its just getting into a safe stop in combat without having to spend to much time dodging.

I haven't played BLM since 2.5, so I can't really give relevant advice for it. That said, have you taken a look at this thread?
