Characters With Anime Names

Anyone else here named their character after an anime character. My character is from the monogatari series. if your character is named after an anime character and you are on the Diabolos server let's be friends. I'm already friends with Chitoge Kirisaki, Lina Inver, and Kotori Minami

Hoooonestly I hate that, but I'm not crazy enough to not talk to people who have pop culture names or expect them to change it. As long as pop culture exists so will people stealing the names.

On topic I know a few people. I'm friends with Ristu Namine (utauloid) and a few others.

I'm not very good at coming up with names for my characters, so I usually just mix and match from some of my most liked series. Whether that be video games, anime, or television/movies.

My current name is taken from Demon's Souls and Xenosaga.

I am guilty of it, kinda wanna change it but at the same time I am not going to pay to do it.

I'm of a similar mind to the above^

Although as an RP'er if you don't have a lore appropriate name that's an immediate demerit in my opinion.

Having said that, pop culture (and anime) names are better than most "funny" names. *see other thread about funny names

Same (YES I know the irony).. I spent like an hour staring at the character creation screen trying to come up with a name.. couldn't think of anything lore appropriate then (there's an """excuse""" now)

My blacklist is filled with the entire cast from Fairy Tail.

If videogame character names also count towards this topic, then I'm guilty of this too. When I first started to make my female Miqo'te character, who I didn't think would end up being my main, I sat there thinking about how I should name her... for quite some time. Since I had a friend who had just purchased the game himself and we were both joining the world of FFXIV for the first time that day, I didn't want to spend forever on the naming process and just picked two cat girl names from two videogames series I've played.

I have no regrets about it. The name "Felicia Meracle" has a nice ring to it for a female Miqo'te after thinking about it IMO. That, and I don't want to spend money on a name change. The "Bye Felicia!" jokes some people love to throw at my face has made me consider it from time to time though.

Same. I dislike seeing names from anime series, movies, books, and other pop culture sources, but I'm not silly enough to think I can really do anything about it so I just kind of silently roll my eyes when I see it. Even worse is when you have people that want so badly to be named Kirito or Sephiroth that they completely mangle the spelling when they (inevitably) find that it's taken. I mean, if someone beat you to it just suck it up and go hit up a random name generator on Google or something.

I recently put my trust in FFXIV's name generator and ended up with an alt named I'zimzizi Zimzi. I'm amused. :3
