Make it so your friends and FC mates can still /tell you when you are in "busy" status. This will encourage more people to use the status and help kill the RMT's since their potential spam pool is smaller. It will also free up people's blacklist from all the RMT's.
While I agree with this, this has been suggested dozens of times from what I've seen in the suggestion forums
There's so many things that could be done regarding the tells & RMT situation but little has been, so far. I can only assume that the coding is so tied in to the game as a whole that to do so isn't easy, or they'd have done so.
The easiest way would be to introduce a global, or individual, word based blacklist. Almost all RMT tells contain one of two or three easily identifiable words or phrases (I won't repeat them here for obvious reasons) that would render the linking to their websites impossible. If Boolean algorithms were used it would really kick them hard. For example (using very old fashioned basic formula) - IF TellWords = gil AND usd OR euros OR pounds THEN ignore.
Of course, that was amateurish in form & experts in the field are far better but it gives an idea of what is required. If it was done this way then it would also solve the problem of not being able to be invited to parties because busy mode wouldn't be needed.
