Why do some groups still use the ABC setup for Echidna?

That is, the set up that puts the snakes within 90 degrees of each other meaning they have 2 stacks of the buff and can potentially two-shot inattentive derps like me with their shockwave attacks?

I'll own up to standing between them being my fault, but what's wrong with the BAC setup that has Echidna at the north and the snakes on opposite ends of the arena?

In all honesty I didn't even know which snakes went to what tank, so this never even occured to me. But hey, now I know. ^^;

Wouldn't it all depend on who is MT anyway? just let them setup the markers.

No? Echidna goes to the A tank, the snakes go to tank B and C. They don't even have to do anything for threat, they're just on them.

This is it, the mobs automatically move to a tank. You can't choose which one you get.

People just create an accepted way of doing things and that's how it's done in DF it's the simplest way to get people to understand their positioning. It's like all the other raids it was easier to just use the same spots for everyone even if sometimes people still don't understand where they are supposed to go. In your case you are just standing too far away from your groups snake. Just get on it's snakey butt and the other one won't reach you.

I think the point hes tryin to make is that the snakes need to be kept from each other ABC puts them closer to each other than BAC. Its more of the proximity of B to C than it is with them being used at all i believe.

When I mark, they are 120 degrees apart, not 90.

In all the VA runs I've done so far the ABC hasn't led to the snakes being close together once they get to their positions, so long as DPS isn't stunning one of them. I can understand stunning Echidna when she petrifies on the second run but never the snakes until they are atleast in position.
