So... What The Hell Does Fisheyes Do?

(Reread title: fixed typo in post but doesn't show up that way on the forum)

No explanation to be found anywhere.

Also does patience II actually modify the normal distribution of fish towards the bigger/rarer targets?

there are some fish you can only catch while fisheyes is active. and you can fisheyes only activate if there is a fish wich you can only catch with fisheyes... otherwise it just says there is nothing...

in the end: this skill does nothing else than burning your GP so you can't use patience. makes it harder to catch the fish because with patience it's a cakewalk to double mooch...

patience 2 increases the HQ rate to i think 100% (never cought an NQ fish with patience 2) and it activates another boost "catch and release". the catch and release buff doesn't increase the rate of rarer fish. what catch and release does is increasing the size of the fish you catch. so instead of 12.4 Ilm it's more likely to catch a fish wich is 20.2 Ilm for example. but it is still the same fish. this is usefull for collectables, because the size of the fish is directly linked to his qualitiy (the qualitiy is his size x 10).

Yeah but even a normal patience collectible will usually pass max quality for turn-in. I don't see the point in increasing size separately form HQ rate since HQ is size-based anyway.

caught an 310 Ilm Nepto Dragon with the skill. hm.... i should try to catch an even bigger one :O

BACK IN MY DAY ...
we didn't even have fisher skills, Fish Eyes is used on some legendary fish like Barreleyes. With Fish Eyes use comes regular ARR fishing. Patience is not the only way you can get a HQ fish(Patience is too good tho)
