VIT damage side effects

Food becomes OP on tanks. VIT and PIE are the only primary stats available on food buffs, specifically because they didn't contribute to anyone's potency when the buffs were designed. You can get more than 1/3 of a HQ draconian pot as a permanent maintainable buff, and the pot stacks on top of it if you use it.

Will Squeenix need to change food to give straight HP instead to compensate?

Two dozen Joe Shmoes have already mentioned this, I'll be beyond shocked if SE somehow missed it.

Or maybe it'll be left in to compensate for what in all likelihood is a dps nerf. Who knows. There are many far more OP things out there than food giving you 40+ VIT.

I think we have to get HP bonus instead of vita, so it's give damage bonus to tank only

Hey, maybe it'll make up for the weaker attack power effect from accessories(this is an assumption) if they make the combined ratio of VIT and STR equal 100%(or less) of what full STR is now.

Optimism!

Seems like an incentive to get tanks to want to eat food.

If they get the most benefit out of food out of all classes, oh well. Won't make a huge effect anyway.

That's not confirmed though.

It's more likely they will do VIT as a 100% modifier and STR as a 10% modifer. We already know they are rebalaincing all the jobs in 3.2 so we know skill modifiers will be altered so it's possible tanks will break even in the long run even if it doesn't seem so now because people are throwing out the worse case scenarios just to get a rise out of others in various threads.
