Sadly I play on a different server (which is usually locked to new characters sadly :(), but I'm sure you will be able to find new friends on Brynhildr! As a start, a good place to look is the forum for your server (which can be found here), and have a look at any Free Companies and Linkshells looking for new people. Granted a lot will be more interested in 'end game' stuff, but you should be able to find a FC or ls that is more social and laid back. :D.

I know many players from your server are more on the ffxivrealm forums. A really new player free company is Final Dawn, Stormageddon Oath i believe is the name of the person. He is not the leader, just a very active poster on ffxivrealm, hehe
