proximity chat. ffxiv needs this

so i read that the division beta has this cross platform. ffxiv needs this. it is better than typing in chat which sucks on a gaming controller

This game doesn't need proximity chat.

Google is amazing.
Technology is amazing.

So you basicly want a voice chat that you can hear based on proximity of the player?

Oh, proximity voice chat. No, never going to happen. Yoshi has already stated unequivocally that XIV will never have built-in voice chat.

In-built voice chat in anything other than an MMO is possible. An MMO is extremely large, OP, name one MMO that has this feature. I mean, actual MMO, not Multiplayer.

EVE Online has it (or did when I played a few years ago). Its terrible, but its there.

That being said, its a waste of game resources for an MMO to have it (which is why it was so bad in EVE).


Also, thanks OP. Now I really miss MAG (its been years...but the proxy chat was just epic)

ESO has proximity voice chat, at least on console servers. It's terrible really..

Ever play vindictus It has in game voice chat and guess what it is super Laggy.

Sony ps4 chat works because its done using the system and its not in game, with all those 90002 errors we get I can just imagine if they added voice to this game it would be a nightmare.
