Skills you never use

So out of curiosity I'm wondering what skills your class / job has that you pretty much deem worthless and never use. I'm pretty sure every class has at least one *stares at BLMs Freeze spell* I'll start this off with my DRG since it's my main, Feint, Keen Flurry, Piercing Talon, and Elusive Jump. I guess I can see how each one could be situationally useful but honestly I never find myself in one of those situations. Maybe I'm underestimating their usefulness, idk.

How about you guys?

Edit: Going further with the discussion, if you deem a skill worthless right now what do you think could be changed about the way that skill works to actually make it worth using? (I really don't have any good ideas for mine right now so if anyone else can think of any that would be awesome. I'll try to come up with something though.)

Weeeeell.... see here's the thing... skills are useful or not useful depending on what content you're facing at a given point in time. Feint has few uses in places in PvE though it can be very useful in PvP. Keen Flurry is useful on bosses that force you to attack from the front occasionally (Ravana EX). Piercing Talon is useful to keep your DPS uptime on a target while you're being forced to move to respond to a mechanic. Elusive jump can be very useful in doing last-second dodges of mechanics, especially if you can follow it with a Spineshatter or Dragonfire Dive to get back into range thus keeping your DPS uptime going. Granted, the scope of these isn't all that great and they're very niche, but they do have their uses.

Your example of Freeze, too, it isn't that it's useless entirely. Freeze can actually be a very good PvP skill, it's just that currently there's no good reason to ever have to use it in PvE.

Elusive Jump should be used in place of one of your jumps to get to the boss for your opener from what I understand.

Wide volley. I use it...well, almost never.

Warden's paeon has limited usefulness too. I only use it on pull with a war in the party...otherwise that 3sec cast time just isn't worth it.

Everytime I see a BRD use WV in their AOE rotation I die a little on the inside

For GLA/PLD... mostly just Awareness, as it's recast is so high and mostly pointless - critical damage is usually quickly recovered from anyway so it's a moot point having a brief buff that guards against it.

Cover is also too fiddly for me, although I do have it macroed half the time I forget it's even there.

Dissapation is good in extreme aoe healing situations, like thordan ex if your group doesn't push before final add...prep those aoe heals!

As for me, I play DRG60 mostly and I literally use every skill, and even feint, although much less commonly. In fact I can't think of any skill on any of my lv60 jobs that I never use.

@TheUltimateSeth us you are way under valuing those skills. Elusive is almost always on cool down for me, Keen flurry blocks ANY aoe that is physical, and there are TONS of then out there, and feint I personally use situationally if I find myself tanking something that's hard hitting + KEEN FLURRY LOL DRG TANK YAAA!!!

Yeah I figured they had their situational uses. Though to be honest I didn't even think of pvp since I never do it. I think the most difficult content I have actually played so far with any interest would be A4N. Gave Bismarck EX a shot in DF, was fun but not even close to a clear lol. Elusive jump ends up screwing me over more times then it saves me though and I have to dodge mechanics on other classes without it so I eventually just let it rot.

Though I'm curious about what you said Ashkendor. Is that just to get closer to the boss quicker to start dpsing or something else?

Wow I didn't know that about Keen Flurry and the aoes. That's pretty awesome! I mean I can usually dodge them anyway (most of the time) but that could definitely help out. I could experiment with using that instead of dodging aoes so I can keep my dps up more maybe? xD
