Couple of noob questions

Hello, started playing this a couple weeks ago and came trough some struggle past lvl 50s. I got some questions;

- My retainers are max lvl at 13 and 14. Is this normal ? I was under the assomption they could go as high as you we're yourself and I have a lancer/dragoon lvl 53.

- First time I played an MMO, basicly I am here for the FF more than all the extra stuff so crafting is not in my sight, at least for now. Is there a know place where players go to sell their services for melding materia and such ? Or do you just random spam and examine if people can meld ? Im playing on hyperion world.

First off, what classes are your retainers? Let's say if one of them is a Marauder.. and you leveled your Marauder to level 15, they'll only be able to reach level 15 as well.
As for the materia! You're best bet is to stand in the market areas of Limsa, Ul'dah or Gridania and ask in Shout if someone can help you with a meld. If that doesn't work, try asking for it in the party finder.

oh yes it helped! My retainers are conjurer and pugilist. And those classes are low lvl. So Im guessing your telling me thats why they are low max level. If I do a lancer retainer he'll be able to go higher ?

Yes. Retainer level is based on how far you have levelled that class yourself, so if you've never actually bothered levelling a specific class but just have it unlocked (in other words, it's still just level 1), and then switch your retainer to it, they will never gain exp in it or level up until you level it yourself.

At the moment you also cannot equip Jobs to your retainers (meaning they are stuck as base classes), but that will apparently be changed in a future patch from what I am aware (hence this means you cannot at the moment set a retainer as a DRK, MCH or AST either).
