Nah man, NAH. You have to see this tarded flailing around in action. My screenshot doesn't do it justice.

You're signaling to the healer not to run away from you when you try to Cover them.

Well, you're clearly smacking your sword against your shield to draw ire back at you by being noisy with cymbals. The Fighter of Dragon's Dogma uses a similar animation for Shield Drum.

The only real issue with the animation is that there's no weight to the sword being swung to hit the shield, while you can clearly see the weight of the pommel in Shield Drum.
