Unable to initiate 'Leves of Bentbranch' quest

I got this quest but never activated it at the time. I have just unlocked the quest that made me the envoy and I'm to take the airship to the other cities, so I decided I'd finish up some of the quests I had in the area before going. I can't do any levequests until I finish this quest.

I go into the journal, select the quest and click on the map button but it says it's unable to open the map at this time. I've gone back to Tierney and all they ask is if I'm changing my mind about doing the quest and then give me a brief description on how to activate it.

I've browsed the forums here, and apparently other folks had this problem going months back, but there were no answers provided on the threads I've seen on how to get round this problem.

You may have to take another look at your journal and check if you have the 'trial levequest' it has to be completed before you can turn in the 'Leves of Bentbranch' quest.
A lot of new players miss this.
