Ninja Dps Status
Hi Everyone,
I've been playing this game for around 2months now and was just wondering what the status is for Ninjas, because as far as dps goes I have read a lot of forums saying that they're around the low end in terms of dps late game and in regards to the 3 melee dps they come out last. Just wondering if there are any word of potential buffs or is the ninja really more of a dps/support role?.
Please feel free to give me tips in maximizing dps. Thanks :)

tl;dr - NIN DPS is very strong in the right hands. It itemizes better at i210 than i180/i190, so it gains a bit of strength as it scales up compared to other classes who don't get quite a crazy i210 set. Trick Attack alone causes it to contribute more than MNK does unless there's extreme AoE. The raid benefits of NIN, Goad and Shadewalker, are stronger than what MNK brings with 20% Mantra, and DRK negates MNK's Dragon Kick bonus for the time being. NIN's basically top tier as is, only slightly lesser than DRG which is really saying something.
That said of course, MNK won't stop you from clearing, skill > comp, blah blah blah is all true.

NIN is pretty strong still, like Sleigh just mentioned. Granted, I'm NIN main since ROG released, but according to other players, my NIN is still lacking at iLv207 (someone parsed my highest at 1297 dps. That's low apparently).
Anywho, ignore the party list for hate numbers sometimes if you use Shadewalker. Many NINs don't use this because they don't like being 5 or 6 on the hate list. Hate does not equal to damage dealt in this case, because they forget that Shadewalker sends 80% of their Enmity to whoever they cast it on, so they always believe they are doing low damage. Shadewalker is almost like Quelling Strikes.
