Just wanted to share tips fir new, and vet players
First some out of game advice
Forums can be a decent place to get info outside the general forums, job and role forums tend to have decent guides
If you play on console, invest in a keyboard communicating in group content helps
Here is some tips fir in game
Try to say hello in group content, it polite and may end up running into people again either on your server or via df.
Ask for help if you need it. People are willing to help. Ignore the jerks.
Understand the group tags
Blue is tank
Red is dps
Green is healer
For those color blind
tanks are marauder axe user, gladiator sword and shield. And at 50 with HW you get dark knight a greatsword wielder
Dps is archer the bow user, arcanist the book wielder, pugilist the fist fighter, thaumaturge the scepter/staff caster, lancer the lance fighter. With level 10 you can unlock rogue a duel dagger fighter and level 50 hw you can unlock machinist a gun user.
For healer there is conjure, with jobs there is scholar, and with hw you have astrological
Make sure you look up the terms if your unfamiliar with them.
Other tips is try to be respectful in groups, you're not playing with npc. Saying hello is a good opener, using ready check at a tank for dungeon start and before bosses is a big help too.
Try to communicate with your party, never assume anything.
