Anima Relic Crystals - What Conditions Need to be Met?

Hi, all. Just wondering if you can farm crystals while leveling or if you need to be level 60 to get the crystals? Do you need to have the quest active or a certain weapon equipped? Thanks.

Just need the Soul without Life quest active, but then you can be on any job. I picked up a random one and leveled my monk to 60 through fates while getting them.

Can confirm that leveling while grinding crystals is THE way to go so you at least make progress at something even if no crystals drop. I can also confirm that a silver medal on a fate is enough to get a crystal.

I levelled my machinist on fates while i farmed for the crystals. Once the quest is activated on a level 60 job any of the fates you do in heavensward areas has a chance to drop a crystal. I farmed on the double and by the time i was 59 mch I had 6 crystals from all 6 zones.

Do you have to be physically at the fate to receive the crystal or can I progress multiple fates and still get crystals when I get credited
