AST Request - [Discard]

Hello,

Am I the only AST that would love to be able to "discard" those few times on a Draw when I won't use the card, but want to get rid of it to restart the cooldown?

I would otherwise suggest that the card drawn simply remain as a buff and the timer starts over again instead of keeping the "drawn" card active on Draw, whichever is easier or makes more sense.

Edit: Currently I right click the buff but since I mostly play all keyboard, it would be quicker to bind a key to Discard if possible.

Imagine how the PS3/PS4 users feel who can't or would fumble to do that. However I currently do the same, right clicking the buff. For asts seems like it should be a key-bind option to cancel the draw, not so much a skill slot needed though.

I haven't tried it myself, but there's a new macro text command /statusoff ( use /statusoff [status] ) that removes designated beneficial status. I believe you can make a 6 line macro with this to remove every "card drawn" effect from Draw and cancel the draw. Once you remove the drawn card, the draw recast will be reset.

Like I said, I haven't tested it myself, so I don't know how true it is. If it does works, it sounds like an okay work around to the "discard" issue on AST.

[EDIT]Looks like I was beaten to it.

While it can be dis-selected, an additional spell could have interesting perks.

Like, not only removing the card, but reducing the cooldown of draw. So even if we drop a card you won't have to wait the full period to draw another.

It'd be neat if, as the discard action, it could deal elemental damage to a target based on the card (i.e., Fire damage on Balance, Lightning on Spire, etc.). Even if the buff is useless at that moment, extra damage usually isn't. Better yet, it could even add another dot and/or set of debuffs to AST's pretty flimsy reptoire.

It's not like we ever use Stella, anyway, so there's some space right there.

thanks for the tip. Now I can discard the 3rd spire I drew in row with relative ease. Don't forget to add <me> at the end.

You know you can just use it, then draw goes on cooldown. Use it on a random person for no real effect, it kind of solves the issue :).

It doesn't, actually. Sometimes, you don't want to do that because it will consume any Royal Road buffs you have on.

This exactly. Thank you for this topic. Going to make a macro for this now. I really wish SE would change how cards work such that you can't draw any cards you have currently royal roaded and/ or put into spread. Would make the job much more interesting to play IMO.
