SCH DPS Question.

Hey guys :) So i've been fiddling around with SCH recently, played AST for ages, alot of fun! but i wanna switch it up a bit.

So i've got two questions, This is mainly to speed things up on bosses.

1. What should i do on bosses? atm i play it off like,
' Bio 2, Miasma , Bio -> Virus -> Broil -> refresh dots as needed.
(not sure if i'm overlooking something here)

2. What should my average DPS be?

Not asking for a very specific, but just a general point to focus on.
I Would like to help my party as much as i can when i'm not healing or when its not needed so i love to push my DPS as much as i can.

My healers are geared with full alex gear(i190) And starting to collect some void gear since last week + I200 ESO weapon.

SCH generally use Aero in their DPS rotation. It's a whole other DoT with decent potency. Also, Virus isn't really a DPS skill. It should be used to mitigate heavy hits.

I'm not an expert so I think someone more experienced could give you better information.

Well, it's not like Scholar - or any other healer for that matter - DPS is rocket science:

Keep DoTs up
All DoTs up: Use filler spells

Scholars have Energy Drain to use in between which you can use freely as you like. But make sure you plan how to use them. So you're not out of stacks the moment you actually need them. But on the other hand, do not waste the CD time on it either by holding back 2+ stacks because you're too afraid of things that may not even happen.

1.For Bosses, I guess you're good if you add aero to your dots. But if you use Ruin II + Energy drain, the combo is stronger than Broil alone and you can do it with the same GCD you'd use for Broil. Or you can use ED as you cast your instant Dots and Broil away. Depends on your playstyle. E4aE is also a good mitigator to use as Virus wear off. It will help you to DPS longer.

2.I play on PS4 and I really can't answer the question, but in patch 3.2 SE will implement some sort of training area where you can see how good you are. From then, you and we all will be able to answer that question.

Start casting shadow flare on pull>bio II>energy drain>Miasma>energy drain>bio>energy drain>aero> aetherflow>broil>energy drain>broil>energy drain>broil> energy drain.

Things to note, Shadow flare, Bio II and Bio have no initial hit so have no accuracy requirements. Also the above assumes you have theee stacks of aetherflow and aetherflow off cooldown.

In raid setting, SCH also sometime dissipate during the opener once their stacks are gone for three additional stacks for energy drain.

After that its all about refreshing dots as they are about the expire :).

Not sure about exact numbers for how high your DPS should be... But for my SCH rotation, I do:
Bio 2 > Miasma > Bio > Energy Drain > Aero > Energy Drain > Spam Broil > Refresh DoTs as needed. I usually always use Energy Drain after Bio/Aero to make up for the GCD downtime. Sometimes I'll toss a Miasma 2 in there, or may feel more comfortable saving my Aetherflows for healing in certain fights rather than using them on Energy Drains.

Also, if you have Selene summoned, keep Fey Wind on CD. ;P Higher attack speed = more DPS for you and your party.

And i mainly use EoS to be honest in certain fights i prefer Selene though!

This is your opener, when you have three stacks and Aetherflow ready to use. After the opener, you shouldn't be using Energy Drain in between spells because that delays your GCD; save them to use when your GCD is running (when you refresh Bio/Aero).
Also, I would start with Swiftcast + Shadow Flare + Energy Drain on the boss for the opener, because that helps keep the GCD running.

Almost forgot about Shadow Flare. :P I use Swiftcast + Shadow Flare as an opener on bosses+big trash pulls once I know it's safe to DPS some. (And if it's a trash pull I might elect to use a Bane instead of Energy Drain after the first Bio to spread a bit of damage out.)

Yeah the hardcast shadow flare is under the persumption its a raid and your tank has a pull macro :). Should have maybe clarified that a bit more.

Also, as a general asside for continuing this topic, if you really want to push opening dps, use a HQ draconic/x potion of mind before hitting cleric stance and you opener. It can make quite a bit of difference. Hopefully they havent changed how potions and cleric interact, as this is from when i was doing T8 savage to push the towers at the start. The way potions interacted then was that the pot of mind would scale to current mind value, added to that value of mind and then converted fully to int when cleric stance was hit. Tried it with intelligence pots after cleric stance was used, and found that they would scale off your base int value, and basically add very little. Hopefully that hasn't changed, but thats another way sch dps in the opener can be pushed if you are truely into maximising your dps on sch.
